Sami's infantry/mech units have a 30% attack boost. Kanbei gets a 30% attack AND defense boost. Depending on which version ofcourse. If it's Dual Strike level, then it's just 20% boost to both attack and defense. I believe it is dual strike level.
Also yes, Kanbei is 20% more expensive, and yes, ALSO my faviroute CO to use. My friends banned me from using him after a while :P
Really?  I never use him, I can't seem to get the hang of him.
I prefer Eagle or Hawke myself.

I'd like to play on a super big, lots of ocean, 2 continents, and a bunch of tiny islands, continent vs continent map.  With fog of war.

The South-East Asia map almost fits that, but it's asymmetric. This map http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=16925 might work but FoW might not be nice. Another big islandy map but FoW might not work super well again - http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=27251. Islandy - http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=23543.

According to http://awbw.amarriner.com/co.php, it's 20/30/30, so pre-DS.

mmm, Advance Wars 2 Kanbei was BEAST!
Advance Wars DS Kanbei with force ranks was nigh on unstoppable :D
(I practically had 141/150 on all troops for Kanbei with a partner with helpful force ranks. That's when they stopped allowing me to join in :P)

Hawke's another good one to play as, and ruddy annoying. I always play Andy against a damager. I never could get the hang of eagle. But then again, I tend to like a varied force, but mainly ground.
Advance Wars 1 Max, ofcourse, was insane. 160/100 for all direct units. Blissful times ^^

Though i'm and Advance Wars purist and will only play the first.  :P

Would anyone be up for a two man lightening round with me?

--- Breaking News ---

Orange Star declares war on Green Earth

Not long ago, Starrian forces engaged Earthen defense forces, and announced a declaration of war. This follows The Cometese-Moonian conflict that began scant days ago. There is speculation of forces building up between Moonian and Earthen aswell as Cometese and Starrian as signs for more conflict for these warmongering countries

(Yes, I'm having way too much fun with this.)

At the pace these games go, roleplaying is the only fun to be had, I was thinking about warning you guys against crossing by borders, but you were gonna do it anyway.

You dude, The Moonian's are having an arms race with the Starians, there's a lake between the the moonian's and the Earthen's. Same goes for Starrian and Comatese :P

Well McAnDreich is, I'm busy with Kanbyyk over there.

I am just going to build up all of my forces. All of them.

Also just because there's a lake between us doesn't mean I can't traverse it.

Edit: Also I guess that makes KotW "King_of_the_Weagles" and me "Lashical2u". Welp.

Edit 2:
Would anyone be up for a two man lightening round with me?

I'll take you up on this, although I'll wait a bit longer so I don't take away a game from someone who hasn't started playing yet.

KotW, please don't die too quickly, I'll be at a disadvantage, what with not being able to claim your properties very easily.
