Are there any classes I should especially get? 

Since I just created my batch of characters based on what I remembered from watching MyNameIsKaz's Sacred Stones playthrough...
Weapon triangles: Axes <  Lances < Swords < Axes... Anima < Dark < Light < Anima
Bows are outside both triangles and generally good - if you can use them.
Archers/Nomads: Bow users
Bards/Dancers: Give units more turns
Cleric/Troubador: Healers
Pegasus Knight/Wyvern Rider: Flying lance users, although apparently they can use swords.
Mage/Monk/Shaman: Magic users
Knight: Tanky spear/axe users
Mercenary/Myrmidon: Swordy, crit-ty guys
Pirate/Fighter: Beefy axe guys
Thief: Non-combat sword guys
Cavaliers: Sword/spear guys
I think that's all of them?

So I guess this means we should organize our own game if we want to try it out.
