Anyone have an embark like this they can share?
« on: February 12, 2012, 01:48:57 pm »

I'm looking for a spot like this, seems impossible to find though.

A Joyous Wilds biome, no aquifer.
Temperate or Warm climate, decent amount of trees and plants.
Access to all the standard civs for trading and war purposes.
It would be awesome if it had Flux, Shallow AND Deep metals, but it's not required.  I'd take just one source of metal.

It sounds simple enough but I've been playing with the world gen parameters for nearly 2 hours, and even trying to use Perfect Embark and I can't generate a site like this.  :(

Or, some tips of world gen editing or using PE would help.  I've increased the desired amount of good subregions, lowered the amount for evil ones.  I lessened the amount of oceans and mountains so I get more land that could suit my needs, but no luck still.

Set high amount of good squares
Set elevation variance to very low, to avoid creating islands, preferably you want a pangaea situation
Disable aquifers
Set minimum and maximum temperature 20 towards center
Set mineral rarity to minimum

Set other x and y variances high, so civs will have opportunities
Let there be some evil also so goblins will be there, but your map must also have non-good non-evil non-savage sites to get all civs

Add 10x to 100x weight to your preferred temperature, rain and drainage ranges, leave others at 1

I'm really surprised if that doesn't do it

It is said knowledge is like a foul-smelling herb. It must be cooked well and thoroughly with experience to make it palatable. A young scholar's knowledge is therefore not only worthless but disgusting. -- In Dwarf Fortress you have another paradigm. Gather as much of that smelly herb as you can and toss it at your enemy, fracturing his skull through the +capybara man leather cap+.

Disable aquifers

WAT.

How do I disable them?  I would have had like 20 perfect sites if it wasn't for aquifers!

Remove the [AQUIFER] tags from stones and soils in the raws.

Under data, in init.

Hm. I've looked though all the .txt files in init. petty thoroughly and haven't found any reference to aquifers. Am I missing something? Or are you talking about introducing new code?
