Sadly though humanity isn't all that bright.

So the logical conclusion is:

Peace is not the current best solution. Well, at least not total peace. I think there'll still be some pointless war going on as long as there's a single tyrant in power >:d

Back to Genghis Khan.

WE NEED GENGHIS KHAN IN THE EVERYTHING TO MAKE IT SMARTER.
That, or sacrifice some culture in the name of tolerance and peace :3
Otherwise culture and diversity will be the only thing keeping humanity from being one single homogeneous mass of awesome.

And to be fair, he didn't really eliminate other cultures, as long as they were good little vassals.

And the civilizations he utterly decimated were uncultured anyways. Though he did actually spread a lot of culture.

I'd imagine it'd look something like this:

All it takes for world peace is a benevolent tyrant :D

Isn't there a Roman saying, where they would solve civil war by invading and taking over?

So basically what we need is some sort of combination of Genghis Khan and Princess Celestia.

That's where the importance of independence comes in, the tyrants won't have any power if people simply choose not to listen to them. Sadly, you're right, humanity as a whole isn't exactly a shining example of supreme intelligence. But doesn't mean it can't become that. With the right amount of effort in the right places.

Then again, maybe humans are just acting up because they never got to spend good quality time with their (great great great great grand)father? We need to resurrect Genghis Khan, so that he can share a touching family moment with his 16,000,000+ descendants.

I'm up for a Genghis Republic if anyone knows how to time travel and can raise an army of a few hundred million angry and overly pacifistic people/badgers/eldritch beings.

How so?

Though I'm still up for the whole Genghis Khan universe rending idea.

... this news is so ancient it's using the old National Geographic website design. It's also turned into a spam thread.

On topic: Genghis Khan was actually a pretty cool guy who ended the old Mongolian system of aristocratic heroic lineage (is there even a proper title for this?) and established a whole new degree of communication between Asia and Europe.

Edit: The whole Comic Sans thing isn't funny, you know.

Somehow I don't think Genghis Khan is a very current figure either ::)
On topic some more: I agree he was actually a pretty cool guy, but there's no disputing the fact that he also tore down a lot of wealthy cities... Then he tore them down when they were broken, just to make a point. We're just saying this guy managed to achieve peace... By being a bawss, and using these implications to fuel the discussion on world peace ;P

I don't really think that world peace will be achieved by 16 million people with the same ancestor. Civil wars, although not specifically between people of the same ancestry, still occur.

With that sort of thinking, it won't be possible  ::)

That's the really annoying thing, it is that easy. Or it would be, if people weren't idiots. The answer is literally right in front of everyone, yet they seem determined to keep their eyes firmly closed. After many a attempt at trying to show people this, I eventually became a devout student in the art of not giving a fuck, and now only discuss it with those willing to listen.

Also, I came up with another brilliant plan to help world peace along:

If Genghis Khan is able to conquer all of the afterlife, we can then unite the world under a single religion, Khanism! No more worrying about any of those pesky faith-related conflicts! Until, you know, they start splitting off into different sects...

Until, you know, they start splitting off into different sects...

Unless the religion has absolutely no motive, point or reason. Then no one can impose anything on it - it'd just be this brick occupying the spot where other religions would be :P
Suddenly -
No more worrying about any of those pesky faith-related conflicts!
Still, isolating people and being completely oppressive tends to stop people from irking away from dictatorships.
*Cough cough DPRKorea*

If there's an afterlife, you can bet Genghis is beating the crap out of Kim Il Sung :P

Obviously, the real solution is for us to raise Genghis Khan from the dead, and simultaneously convert all text in the world into Comic Sans. Then we recruit an army of the blind and illiterate for Genghis Khan to lead to victory. World peace, in three simple steps.

It's also turned into a spam thread.
Turned into?

The whole Comic Sans thing isn't funny, you know.
That depends on what standards of humor you're judging it by. Also, if it was intended to be funny in the first place, as opposed to horrifying or annoying, for example.

That's a good idea. Imagine going door to door trying to spread Khanism...

Khanist: "Hello, sir. We just stopped by to know if you've heard of the mighty conquest of the afterlife by our lord and (great great great great grand)father Genghis Khan, and if you have already been welcomed into the glorious and loving family of Khanism."

Random resident: "Khanism? Well what do you guys believe in?"

Khanist: "I...don't really know."

Random resident: "What kind of religious ceremonies do you have?"

Khanist: "None that I know of."

Random resident: "What does it even have to with Genghis Khan?"

Khanist: "I have not the slightest idea."

Random resident: "...Sign me up."

Still, isolating people and being completely oppressive tends to stop people from irking away from dictatorships.
*Cough cough DPRKorea*

Yet a dictator is unable to oppress and isolate others by himself. He needs compliant people to that for him. He wouldn't even have anything to dictate without the cooperation of others.

Well The Genghis of Khanism is now a religion. :D :D :D

Core beliefs:
  • Somehow Genghis Khan
  • Humanity
  • Getting smart smart!
  • PEACE EVERYWHERE.
  • Failing that, Pax Imperialis

Holidays:
  • When one feels like it, and the situation requires such. Or if the situation doesn't. No one really minds.

Doctrines:
  • Don't have doctrines.
  • No ceremonies.

And the thing about dictatorships is - you have to get everyone to stop co-operating. And to do that, you have to start with the individuals, which is not possible when the collective is against them :(

Voilent circles...

Not like Genghis, he'd make it a peaceful hexagon.
