Ok...

So in a recent game, soon after starting I accidently breached into the circus, but was able to seal the breach befor any 'FUN' happened.
However... shortly after that on my unit screen I begin to see corpses pile up:

"One-Eyed Anteater Monster"
"Black Brute"
"Scropian Fiend"

And so on.. I don't even think these ARE demons because the bodies show up as Green not red.

I wondered if there was some sort of underground war going on, so I explored all three of the Under Bioms, but aside from Endless Zombie crundles and Zombie Trogs, nothing was found.

Oh yeah did I mention? I am in an EVIL Biom.
These "monsters" seem to be the ONLY thing NOT a Zombie.

They're demons. Or night creatures. My guess is the zombie trolls got 'em.

Theory:

While traveling, demons cluster around Xibucazxicsuicidiel Dust Demon with deadly dust

While trying to reach the offensive fortress, in their endless travels through the underworld, somewhere in some deep hidden recess of caverns the alert Dust demon spots a zombie monarch butterfly or skeletal lungfish menacing somewhere in some hidden, deep recess of caverns

I have no idea what symbol they are, All I know is they show up in the "DECEASED" line for units.

I want to know where these units are, they don't seem to be demons.
I actually re-breached the circus and watched everything that came out, but all theu nits where "RED" and none of them seem to be named the same as what is being killed.

Is there some layer I have missed? Is it some how counting units that aren't even on the map?
They must be SOMEWHERE.

Maybe, since non of the living demons match the dead ones, you've been (cursed? blessed?) with clowns that just die.
You know, spontaneous combustion and all that.

I still don't know that they ARE demons, when I get home Im goign to take screen caps of the dead names and descrps, and compare them with the clowns in the pit.

These are demons. They may be syndroming eachother if they ooze syndrome, i'm not sure if they are immune or not. My only advice is do not let your dorfs touch them or go near the tiles they crossed or this will be your forts fate, take it from someone whos had a fort crumble through contact syndrome.

This was my first thought, check the stocks menu for their corpses, zoom to item, , profit!

All forgotten beast/titan/demon syndromes affect creatures in the GENERAL_POISON class; while non-inorganic titans and forgotten beasts are members of that creature class (and can thus poison each other), demons are not.

The Mystery Continues!!!

OK, so first off, I was dead wrong... All the Dead beast ARE Zombies, ALL of them.
Has there ever been a Zombie Demon?

Here is the full list of corpse types.


Scorpion Brute  A great hairy scorpion. It has two tails and appears to be emaciated, beware its sting!
Anteater Monster  A gigantic feathered Anteater twisted into humanoid form. It's bronze feathers are patchy. Beware it's deadly dust!
One-Eyed Fiend    A huge one eyed pterosaur, it has a huge twisting trunk. It's clear scales are jagged and set far apart. Beware it's poisonous gas!
Black Brute  A Towering fox twisted into humanoid form with external ribs. It's black hair is ragged and unkempt. Beware it's noxious secretions!


Ok so... First off these are the only four types noted, but the deceased list goes on for FOUR PAGES of bodies!
They are NOT demons. I breached the Circus again, and counted every beast that came out. Of the "Flame fiends" and "Shadow Beasts" and "Parrot Demons" that came out, none matched the beasts already dead.
Third, they are not all dead, the list keeps growing.

At this point I am going to upload the file and see if someone using "REVEAL" on it can find these things

Using a non moded version of the newest release...
I AM running it on a Mac, perhaps causing extra evil?
