Start creating the Wooden Palisade.
We don't have enough lumber availble for that. We don't have enough lumber for finishing the farm.
Send some persons looking for drift wood along the coast.

Build a Hunter's Lodge.
For the town name I vote: Bastion
For the Island I vote for Las Muerdos.
Also finish the farm.

I vote for "Shiny Shining of Shininess"
Or just "Hope" New Hope makes me think of Star Wars.

I say the name 'Hope' (little cliche).

Look for a suitable spot for fishing and while they are out pick up driftwood off of the beach.

World of Legend - They Came From The Darkness

Quote from: Actions
- Build a Hunter's Lodge, and Man it
- Continue Work on the Farm Farm
- Search for Driftwood
- End of month (?)

Seeing the lack of food for your people you divert your resources to building a Hunter's Lodge, and continuing work on the farm in the hopes of making your income of supplies large enough to fight of the seemingly inevitable starvation of your people. As the work continues your people finish uninterrupted, and your first haul of fresh meat is delivered in the form of several dozens hares, and deer that your hunters slayed for food.

Upon the last night of the month, on the night of a full moon Beasts burst forth from the forests, and rush into your village slaying ten of your people before fleeing back into the forest. As you looked for sign of the dead you find all of the corpses were taken, perhaps for food. Though as your people look for signs of the dead they find a heavily wounded man bearing the crest of some unknown army, and using gear fit for tribals.

He stands over the corpse of the Beast, and his last words were "Tell my people you are here *cough* give them a message. The Sun we thought once burnt out has Risen again *cough*, and the Bird we waited for has came." With that the man passed as he succumbed to the claws all over his body. The Beast's body you burn, but you feel you have gained something from setting eyes upon it, and burning it. [+ 5 Research Points, Will Be Explained Far Later]

Even with the dangers of this place life continues on, and your people seem happy to still be alive, yet put down by recent events.

Two months is 8 weeks away (unless the calendar is radically different to ours), so that should give us plenty of time to prepare defenses. We need to get that palisade up quickly, but I think we should build a third woodcutter's hut and continue work on the farm first. Also, can we train any troops at the moment?

Build a hunting lodge to start producing food so we don't starve before the farm gets finished.

At the moment the best you could manage for a military unit would be a group of untrained peasants wielding crude clubs.

In that case the most effective option at the moment seems to be the palisade (but we should still build a farm and third woodcutters hut first)

World of Legend - Building Continues

Quote from: Actions
- Finish Building the Farm
- Build another Hunter's Lodge
- Begin Building another Woodcutter's Hut
- Search for More Driftwood
- Build the Palisade

Your people rush about their work once again as the sun rises on the first day of the new month, their new orders are to finish the farm, and build one of both a woodcutter's, and a hunter's lodge to secure your livelihood for now. Elsewhere many of the men go about preparing the ground, and setting up the wooden palisade that will be required to protect your people from the Beasts within the forest.

You hear numerous rumors about where the other man came from, and many of your people come to you asking the same question. You answer them truthfully, for you do not know either, and the hurry away a bit freaked out that even you do not know. Setting that all aside you send some more people searching for drift wood, but find your people had cleared the area out with their previous search, and looking would not force more into being.

Finish the farms and the pallisade, there's no more to be said or done with everyone occupied.

World of Legend - Farmin' Time!
« Reply #28 on: February 17, 2012, 07:02:10 pm »

Quote from: Actions
- Finish Building the Farm
- Build the Palisade

Your people continue life as usual, and soon have the farm finished, it is not much more then a collection of huts, and fields based around a deep pond not far from the center of your village. It'll come in handy as it also falls within the confines you have planned for the palisade. Elsewhere the palisade goes on just as well as log after log is place into holes dug in the ground, and the dirt is piled up around the base to help hold the solid wall of tree logs up. The week goes by quickly, and nothing out of the ordinary happens as you continue to solidify your place on the island.

As the weeks drag on you find yourself dragging closer to Leaf Fall, and not long after that Winter Night will cover the land, and by that time your people had best have places to sleep, or many shall die from the freezing cold that will fall upon the island. Past that two more weeks crawl by, and the beauty of the wooden palisade can be seen all around the village, and the first harvest of your new farm is reaped, and new seeds sown in their place.

With this done much of your population has jobs to do, leaving you with a scant sixty civilians to continue doing work that you may be done around the village, as well as leaving only sixty men to be recruited, and trained into a military force for your people's protection.

Have we finished the palisade yet? We should start building 2 more Hovels so we can protect everyone from the coming winter.
