I think the nobles should have to live in the undercity.

...

Why do you want to spoil the nobles?

It's absolute Circus. I had to resort to turning on fast dwarf, and even now, it's taking aggeess. It's mostly designation that's taking so long. but still. Looks positively epic in Stonesense, and is... oddly clean. A lot of my woodcutters(who clear space for the city) come back covered in badger blood, and trail it across the city. In a normal fort, this is usually a problem. But the citydwarves seem intent on keeping the constructed tiles -clean.- Also, the undercity kind of formed naturally because of the way the towercomplexes for workshops, storage spaces, and houses came about. But there's enough spacing and skyline to prevent my beautiful city from looking like just a big, ugly, granite -brick- with dwarves living inside of it like worker bees.

Impressive project. I once thought of using only actual blocks to make everything, but I end up forgetting about it simply due to how much longer it takes to make something. I mean, if my typical 4x4 house (so a 2x2 room) takes 14 stone for the walls, that's 14 stone blocks!

That'll be -hundreds- of more stone blocks! And more mining! And another year of production!

...You guys are the worst nobles ;-;.

Nullnostalgia cancels Construct Castle; interrupted by Hammerer.

Mere hundreds?  I have over 100 THOUSAND green glass blocks allocated in my current megaproject... it is not anyplace near finished yet. (Greenglass is awesome because all you need is magma, sand, and some bags.)

Surely you can handle a few hundred stone blocks. :)
