Vulsano facepalms and retrieves the shield.

"Shadow Evocation... interesting. Apparently someone is too high-and-mighty to keep the humble school of evocation available."

On the other side of the looking glass ...

Mist filled the place. A road, neatly cobbled, stretched through the mist. On either side was row upon row of houses. There were more roads parallel to this one, each bordered by houses. At the very end of the road was a black citadel with rising spires and thick walls.

A faint galloping sound could be heard.

Vulsano does not recognize the city at all.

Most of the town can't be seen in detail from here. The one thing you are sure of is that the many buildings are almost identical to each other.

The roads are all empty. Not a sound is heard except for the faint galloping.

All the grass is brown and dead. There is nothing to identify. The galloping sound draws closer ...

Toman shrugs and heads towards the sound of hoofbeats with weapon ready, since he knows a railroad when he sees one.

(Also, is it really just me/Toman and Araph on this mini-quest? No one else going at all? O.o Final note, finally finished my work. New pog for Toman (his old one had red instead of gold for his detailing, which was wrong, and he doesn't have a shield anymore so I had to change that) and updated his stuff to reflect he has less defense but more attack power now, pog for Anya, finalized/set up her character and macros so I can use her in MapTools on Friday. ^^^)

((Mostly because in actuality the only animate thing in this whole demiplane is that...))
((@V  - Meta knowledge: You are now in a railroad!))

The reverbrating sounds of hoofs beating on stone seemed to be coming from more than on direction, until it finalized to coming from behind. Toman swiveled around and saw a huge knight wearing black armor on a likewise black steed. He prepared to be charged...
but the thing galloped straight past him, or, Toman could almost say, through him.
Red streaks came from the eyes of the horse. The knight rode down the street without even glancing back.

Now that he realized , the street seemed to have a slight curve, like the road was on the inside surface of a sphere. The road was lined with bleached buildings, few with windows. The inside of most of the buildings seemed to be bare. Barrels were lined up in a few houses- perhaps they once were shops.

Eurika complained, "I hate Genesis and demiplanes!"

"What?" Toman looked around for Eurika. He was sure he had heard her just now but hadn't seen her yet. "Hmm..." He stopped and considered things for a moment. "Vulsano, should we split up? You head left and I head right?" They would cover more ground that way, but it might be dangerous. Who knew?

Split up if Vulsano agrees; otherwise, stick by him.

(Makes sense. ^^^; I guess except Ria, if this takes place during the 5 days she's meditating, and Rae, who would stay behind to watch over her if necessary. But if not, then OK. I'll continue having Rae say nothing and having Anya technically not exist as part of the party yet. ;D But I'll stick to my action unless someone other than the pair of us does something.)

Vulsano raised an eyebrow at Eurika's exclamation.

"Demiplane, huh? Interesting..."

He makes Spellcraft and Knowledge (Arcana) checks to glean information from his surroundings, with +17 modifiers each!

"Eh, shield it is, then."

Sometime later... (Whenever Riawilde talked to Vulsano.)

"Pleasure to meet you, too! I'd be happy to help you make whatever magical doohickey's you need. I'm not accustomed to druidic magic, but I'm sure I can make what it is you need, unless I can't make it, in which case no, I'm not sure I can make it."

Vulsano was pretty sure this person harbored a variety of negative emotions in regard to him. Must be due to his particular elvish lineage, because he was reasonably sure he hadn't made an ass of himself yet.

((Does Riawilde have the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat?))

((@Araph: Yes, she does.))

Ria smiled frostily.

"Good. Then we can get started...right away..."

Rudra shrugs and begins walking towards the black citadel. Doesn't seem like there are many other options.

MEANWHILE, IN THE FUTURE

Rudra's first destination after making it back to town is, once again, the mage guild.
"I've got several things I'm looking for," he begins. "I'd like to buy some Angel Down and Dragon's Tears, a Quill of Transcription, and several spells for my spellbook. Since my adventuring friends don't seem to spend much time sitting around, I might need to buy the spells as scrolls so that I can transcribe them while travelling."

list of spells I want to buy:
Protection From Evil
Darkness
See Invisibility
Levitate
Magic Circle Against Evil
Tongues
Haste
Ebon Eyes
Heroics
Mindless Rage
Slapping Hand
Snake's Swiftness
Mass Snake's Swiftness
Stolen Breath
Stars of Avandor
Healing Touch
((for a total of 36 spell levels, assuming the mage guild can sell me all of these that should come out to 1,800 gp for the spells))

((We need to have that ring with a necromancy aura appraised at some point))

Also, for Sky for reference:
In most cases, wizards charge a fee for the privilege of copying spells from their spellbooks. This fee is usually equal to the spell’s level x 50 gp.
