Bael smiled, picking up a lay of cards. He thought it was a weak hand to start on...he reached into his money pouch and added his money to the pot-then realized had had only brought his Tyrmitore coins, which were wooden.
Rae, Tali, Ria and him only played for those-partially, because Tali didn't enjoy taking their gold money, as much as winning. Which she did...alot.
"Ah, never mind the pot. I'll offer this." he said, laying out the silver filigreed chain he had plucked from one of the Necromancers in the last battle on the table.
The chain was a delicate, pretty thing-much like the woman he had killed who had been wearing it. It had the picture of some sort of young man inside a locket on one end. He had removed the picture, and cast it into the bonfire along with the rest of everything else.
In truth, it bothered him to keep it. Bael had watched the Necromancer woman first, as she countered Ria's lightning spell-and later, as he chased her down...in truth, he wanted the chain to go. No one else would dwell on those sorts of thoughts...he realized he was getting distracted again, and hoped it wouldn't show on his face.
"...ahh, the Aun are not totally unlike any other Elven tribe-they move fairly often, depending on the dangers and resources in a specific area. Our concept of time is different than yours, of course. 'Fairly often', can go from be a week or fifty years...
They don't do as much outsider trading as the Tyrmitore clan, though. Too paranoid. Afraid to let their people mingle among non-Elves, I suppose. Makes them harder to find, that's why they do it. They're notoriously secretive.
That's usually the best way to find them, though-track down their trade partners, either from some of the wilderness cities run by others, or some of the more friendly clans. Once I get a fix, it's fairly easy for me track large groups, even though we all naturally try to hide our tracks.
Alternatively, we could travel to the clan moot-sort of our own central Holy ground-and speak to a Mootleader. They're like Diplomats, from your own lands, but for internal matters. Every clan is supposed to have one, even them-but, for their clan it's viewed more as a punishment...either way, if all fails, that's another way could get in touch with them.
Or, they might tangle you in obscure tribal ritual, waiting for you all to die of old age..."

Tali spun the knife in her hand, thinking...
"I was thinking lunch, nothing really fancy. Someplace special...
Bael mentioned to me, that Elves in some of the cities build like...cabins, in the tops of trees? Supposed to be very peaceful, very beautiful. We could be alone there."
Bael had indeed mentioned it, grinning wryly-Elven Cabins were grown into the treetops by teams of wood shaping druid completely naturally, and had the function of being generally non-damaging to nature. After they were used, they reverted back to their normal forms, no harm done.
They were highly prized when they could be built, since they were reserved for special occasions-births, marriages and courtship, usually. Most Elves still preferred to actually live in their low roofed bungalows and cloth tents, of course, if even that. Elves like Bael preferred no roof at all.
Tali was quite honestly unaware of their cultural significance-she supposed Elves built entire cities of them, as Dwarves might have.
