Riawilde stepped up behind Tali and Rae, noting the immediate change her mood... tentatively, she felt forward with her spiritual sight, and breathed a sigh of relief.

Before, the spirit energy around her had been...red and black, raw and wounded. Deeper than that, a storm of rage and pain-one which had always been with Rae, but now raging out of control, thundering dangerously.

The storm was still there, but now...it was subdued, like a sleeping Dragon. Her aura was clearing, purifying once more, to gold and green. It brought a smile to her face. She sat down beside them both, not saying anything at first.

"...Sister?"

Almost immediately, the pain in her head subsided completely.

Rae looked back and up slightly at Ria. "Ria," she said. She wasn't quite sure what to say; It had been some time since they had spoken, and, well, given what had happened between then and now, she didn't know where to start. Instead she settled for hugging Ria tightly. "I've missed you," she said after a few moments, releasing her. She glanced at Tali, then looked back at Ria, as if asking what she thought.

Alith looked at him, and attempted to read his mind. "You think I will follow you simply because you asked me? Who are you and why are you speaking to me?"

"...It is for your own good. Follow, please."
The man did not wait for an answer and started walking towards the stairs.

Anya entered the galley, leaving Toman to his own devices at the moment, and took stock of the situation. Rae, Tali, and Ria were standing together, apparently in the middle of something. Alith wasn't on board at the moment. Many of the NPCs were involved in an argument. Luke was... somewhere. Toman had said he thought he said he was going to fly about and scout, but he didn't remember if Luke actually said that or if he just thought he had. Saint was in the hold, doing whatever it was a Warforged did when it wasn't needed. Vulsano and Lucus were... around, she thought they were in town, but she wasn't sure.

And Rudra... seemed to be seasick. She watched the magician make a disgusted sort of sound before pushing his half-eaten plate away and burying his face in his arms. She decided to see what the matter was and took a seat adjacent to the younger man, putting her elbows on the table and resting her cheek on a palm. "Is something the matter?" she asked.

Ria put her forehead against Raes and a hand behind her head-and smiled, while they hugged. They met eye to eye, soul to soul.

"I knew you would come back to me, Sister." She said softly-maybe more for her own benefit, than anything.

As she leaned back, Ria noticed something...different.

"Hmm. I think I should thank you, Tali Blackstone. For being my sisters friend. And, for being honest with her. You know of what I speak?"

Tali merely seemed embarrassed, and unable to respond, though she still had a shy smile on her face-and, she didn't let go of Raes hand in her own.

"...it was just the right thing to do. She's my friend, ya? I should act like it more often." Tali said, off evenhandedly.

Rae blushed as well, but continued to meet Ria's eyes. "Ri-a! Not so loud, I don't know if I want everyone else to know yet!" she whispered fiercely, completely oblivious the fact her feelings toward Tali were extremely obvious and in fact had been for several weeks. Her cheeks were still a little pink as she continued on. "They'll probably think it's weird." Anya would, at the very least, from what she knew of the sorceress. Either that or she'd start in teasing about polymorph spells, it was hard to tell with her sometimes. "I mean... I want them to know. But... right now I want it to be just us."

She squeezed Tali's hand, enjoying the quiet companionship they shared. Although she'd said it earlier, she didn't feel words were necessary to convey what she felt for the dwarf. "Also... we're starving. Is there anything to eat? And would you and Bael like to eat with us?" she said to her sister.

"All things come in time."

Ria's stomach grumbled at the mention of food, as if being reminded.

"...oh. I am hungry. Bael's on the deck fishing right now. We might go see if he's caught anything..."

Up on the deck...

Bael was lounging in his favorite hammock chair, a long brimmed hat over his eyes, his long fishing pole trailing into the ocean. He wasn't asleep, but you could mistake him for being so. His bow and quiver were, of course, laid idly to one side.

Ria had told him she felt Rae was healing. That the Dwarf had finally...gone and done what she had to do. He was glad for them.

Personally, he felt things were going quite well, amazing in fact. He smelled it in the air. End of the world? Not today. Undead armies? Pah. Who cares. Big whoop. Demons from the abyss? Let 'em wait, he was on break. Today, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Sunshine all day, and a nice gentle breeze. Of course he hadn't caught any fish, he thought, grinning. Let the fish stay in the ocean today. He didn't really want to bother them, anyway. Bael hadn't even bothered to bait the hook.

He breathed deep of the salty ocean air, as lazy and content as the most well fed housecat. He heard steps behind him, but didn't rush to turn about. No rushing today.

Bael grinned once more, hoping it was Riawilde. That she would put a hand on his shoulder, turn his head about, and whisper something only he could hear, press her lips to his...that would make the day perfect.

His mind mused-it could also be Toman, or even the Alith fellow. He didn't much mind who. Maybe they could drop a pole by him, join in.

Bael believed he had finally found his inner peace-and, it was amazing. He could almost-almost-just let go...let go of the pain he had carried for so many years. Let go of the hatred...almost. But it was still there, deep down, like a Dragon coiled loosely around his heart...Bael shooed those ugly thoughts back into the recesses of his mind.

Not worrying about that today, he thought.

((OOC: I thought to finally give Bael a proper character introduction :P ))

(It's Auvergne! Turn around, Bael! NOOOO- :P)

Rae nodded. "Of course. I think fish might be good, today..." They could get fish any time, of course, but for some reason she was just in the mood for it right now. "Let's go." She took Ria's hand in her free one and led both up the stairs to the deck, where Bael was apparently napping in his hammock and Toman was staying busy making sure the crates and barrels were properly tied in place so they wouldn't slide.

Rae let go for a moment to creep up to Bael and lift his hat, trying to figure out if he was actually asleep or not...

(Boo scare time? :3)

OOC: I did leave adequate space for evil GM interrupt. :P

Bael recognized the feet as they closer-the light, rhythmic padding of Kanesrae's tough boots.

He didn't open his eyes once the hat was removed, preferring to pretend to be asleep for a few moments more. He murmured, as if in a dream...

"...well, you're sisters so pretty Ria, I think I'll marry her instead...oh, yes, I like it like that..."

He was close to keeping the jovial tone out of his voice, but not perfect. He expected Rae would punch him on the arm. Bael had a nice thought at this moment. He loved her as much as he did Ria.

Bael never had a blooded-sister, before her. It was nice.

Rae blinked. She hadn't expected anything like that! She raised an eyebrow, focusing all her attention on Bael and taking 20 on a Spot check. After a few moments of careful study, she mock-frowned and poked the end of his nose. "I saw you trying not to smile!" she said teasingly. "What would Ria say if she knew you said that, hmm?"

Enough teasing Bael, though. About that, anyway... "Speaking of Ria, she told me to tell you to stop goofing off and catch fish for dinner." Rae had a suspiciously :3-like curl to her mouth as she said it. "Her words, not mine." Blatant lies.

(Gah. Wanted to keep Rae emo for a bit longer but it's way more fun if she's not. :P)

Bael flashed a generous smile, grey eyes glinting.

"Well, Ria would probably turn me into a Finch, Sister. And keep me in a little cage till I apologized to her in birdsong." He said, winking.

Bael swept a wide hand to the ocean.

"...Ah, and it's such a nice day. I think I'll take a swim. I always preferred a more hands on approach."

He sat up, removing his boots and shirt, and grabbing his long spear and a small carrying net.

"It's been years since I went spear fishing. I remember when the clan settled in that little cove by the ocean? That was a great summer...must have been 170 years ago."

He put one hand on the railing of the ship. At that moment, he felt oddly prescient.

"I'll be back in the hour. I should get enough fish for everyone.

...and, it's good to see you like yourself again, Rae. You remember now? A warrior who doesn't take joy in their life is just a person with a sword in their hand, half of a beast.

A warrior who learns to balance the joys and sorrows, war times and peace time, is generous in love and less of hate...becomes something more. They serve an ideal greater than themselves. They live forever, and die in glory.

They become a Kanes. I think you'll grow stronger for what you've endured, Sister. I know I did."

He smiled, ran a hand across Raes brow to brush away a messy strand of hair, and then jumped the railing-swan diving into the ocean gracefully...

Rae was slightly off-put by that comment. She was only 131 years old! She couldn't believe she'd missed out on the beach by 39 years. Stupid parents, what did they think they were about, waiting so long after Ria to have her? She inhaled deeply, puffed her cheeks out, and blew a long raspberry at Bael. "She ought to turn you into a pelican. It would be easier for you to catch fish that way," she said, watching him get ready to dive into the ocean.

Still, he did have some good advice. He had been where she was at, sort of, and he turned out all right. But he was grown up, though, as far as elves went; she was still pretty young and still figuring things out. She tolerated him pushing some hair back... then immediately mussed it again as soon as she heard the splash. "I keep saying I prefer it this way, but no one listens..." she groused to nobody in particular.

She wandered back to Ria and Tali. "Bael's gonna go catch some fish. And he wants to marry me," she announced, just to see how the both of them would react. He HAD said it, after all, even if everyone knew he didn't mean it. "Probably looking for pearls while he's down there, it would make a good engagement gift..." Rae couldn't quite stop the "OK I'm totally lying" smile that was starting to form.

Rudra lifts his face out of his arms, resting his chin on them instead.
"...I've got a lot to worry about, I guess. I don't want to worry everyone else with too much of it before we deal with Bano, but..."
The wizard heaves a deep sigh, and mutters.
"Probably shouldn't keep all of this to myself. Don't know how Azasar's coping so well..."
