It seemed that most of the crew were out squandering their money on entertainment, as the ship was mostly deserted. Lucus had that feeling that he was going in the wrong direction as he looked around for someone to ask directions from. He thought he was near the galley, but ship-related knowledge was by no means his forte. A ruffled-looking man was heading towards the end of the hallway he was meandering in. Lucus nodded politely in greeting.

(retroactively)
Rudra gives the new face a quizzical look and a quick wave before continuing on to the galley.

(meanwhile, in the present)
"...No, I didn't really. I had a bit of an ominous dream. I dreamt that trees multiplied around me, and then started attacking each other... It's actually bugging me, especially after the whole deal with Rae, and Ria isn't her usual self, either..."

(Providing your ninja'ing needs since late 2010.)

The sorceress thought it over for a few moments, idly munching on her breakfast as she did so. "Yeah... who could have figured a place named Hatred Island would have turned out so poorly for some of us?" The question was more playful than sarcastic, and she set an ace aside. "It'll turn out fine, dear. I think Rae is just realizing what it means to be an adult, and it's rather a sudden shock to her. Once she figures out how to take responsibility for her mistakes, she'll be all right. That's not to say we should show no concern for the poor love; she needs support now more than ever, even if she doesn't want it. Especially so, maybe."

She finished her breakfast. "Awfully strange sounding dream, though. Maybe it means something. D'you suppose Ria would know?" The mage had mentioned her acting oddly, and for that matter Anya had noticed she wasn't exactly in high spirits. It might have been due to the amount of undead on Hatred Island, though. Maybe it was worse for her than usual, given that it was once an elven land. "We should talk to her later, and maybe Saint and Luke, too. They might have some theories." She patted the chair next to her. "There's time enough for breakfast, first, though. Sit a spell." That particular phrase seemed to amuse her.

((I'm a bit of a ninja myself, especially when it comes to MapTools... just ask RedWarrior, I've ninja'd him quite a few times  ;D
We eventually started saying Swordsage'd, since Swordsages are better than ninjas))

Rudra idly collects himself a plate and utensils, and some food. "You're probably right, I'm just worried about things. Besides the Elves, there's also the fact that Bano is likely to start hunting us down sometime soon, but everyone seems to have already forgotten him.." He sits down with a small sigh. "If he does come after us, he won't have Winterer... but on the other hand, he'll probably bring his island of tireless undead people with him, and they all want to kill us." Rudra chuckles nervously. "Heh... look at me, making myself all nervous..."

((Breakfast? My characters would be there for it, even if they doesn't eat. I was expecting them to go shopping midday anyways.))

Luke was sitting across from Anya, but he seemed too distracted to notice her mentioning him. He held what appeared to be a leather bound journal that he had bought only a few days ago. Something seemed to be on his mind. He occasionally muttered while shifting over a few pages, but nothing understandable. He glanced up for a moment to see Rudra talking to someone at the table. "Rudra, I don't suppose you know of any major libraries in this city? You know, somewhere that would be up to date with new books?"

"Periwinkle's too small for that," chips in Joshua.
"I should know, I lived here. For libraries, Noire is actually your best bet."

Anya shrugged. "I haven't forgotten Bano, I'm just not worried about him. The only three advantages he had in the last battle were the anti-magic zone and destructive capabilities of Winterer, and that over-sized organ of his. Tali has Winterer now, and if he comes after us he won't have his instrument. Better than even odds one of us alone could tear him to shreds." She put a black five on a red six. "An army now... that's a different story. It might take both of us." She grinned. "You worry too much, Rudy. Let the cards fall where they will and only worry about the hand you're dealt. Worst comes to worst, I find bluffing on a bad hand works nine times out of ten, and I like those odds."

"At the same time, caution is a good thing. I suggest you look into some more spells for your spell book. Want a loan?" she asked. She had a lot of money that she wasn't using for much besides betting these days.

(And now I've been ninja'd. Twice. :P)

"They don't have a mage's guild here... even if they did, in a small town like this, it probably wouldn't have the level of spells I need. And I'm not sure they have a library either..." Rudra cuts a chunk off of his pork chop. "Maybe you're right, though. I'll just distract myself doing something with magic, maybe make a scroll or a new spell or something. Oh, hey, have either of you seen the new guy?"

Anya cocked an eyebrow. "New guy? Didn't know someone had joined..." she said. "I wonder what he's like. Speaking of, have you seen Azasar around? I thought I might invite her out to go shopping, you know, get to know her a bit. I think getting out and about would do her some good, and she needs a friend."

"Well, I saw someone new onboard, and he looked lost, so my guess is that he's new. Do you mind if I join the two of you for shopping? I've got a fair bit of money left myself, and I could use some air."

Anya grinned. "I don't mind at all, but I was planning a sort of girl's day out, if you catch my drift. Be prepared to spend some time looking at clothes, shoes, and flowers. Maybe some books if we can find a good place. I was also thinking of seeing if there's any sort of entertainment out there; a bard, perhaps, or a full-on play. Or even a few games of chance..." Her grin broadened. "Of course I still have a deck of cards here and some dice, so I'm sure we could get a few games going on the ship if need be."

Azasar opened the hatch and crept down into the ship galley. She tiredly got out of her heavy plate armor and cast Lesser Restoration on herself.

"Ugh, I slept in my armor... My body aches..."

She staggered over to the kitchen area and picked up some bread and cheese.

Anya looked up as Azasar approached. "Good morning love. We were just speaking of you," she said, indicating Rudra with the Ace of Clubs she currently had in her right hand. "I was going to ask you if you wanted to go out with us today, do a bit of shopping, talk a bit. Get to know each other." She smiled. "Have a seat, dear. Rudy is eating his breakfast as well." She set the Ace aside and put the two on it, then put a black nine on a red ten.

(Quick note: Anya just has a habit of referring to everyone as love, dear, dear heart, and variants thereof. Don't read anything into it. :P)

Well then. The guy had gone into what Lucus could only assume was the galley, and he didn't look like a sailor. After a moment's hesitation, he came to a decision and entered the room. An odd array of people were hanging around the galley; one winged guy holding a small book, the guy who Lucus had seen digging into his breakfast, a woman playing a card game, another woman who looked badly in need of a nap, and <insert description of Joshua here>.

Somewhat caught off-guard, Lucus adjusted his guitar case slung over his back and reacted with his trademark wit and pizzazz.

"Uh... hi."

"That's 'smart whitehaired guy who is also good-looking and leaning on the wall anticipating the solution to Anya's game of solitare' for you," said Joshua with a totally straight face, nodding at Lucus.

Azasar said to Anya, "Uhm, ok?" and started nibbling on her bread.
