Zones...
« on: February 10, 2012, 05:42:36 pm »

Hi,

I just saw the little option for the (e) button in the zones. I wonder what it does...

You can select reactangle, flow and floor flow with it.

It lets you set zones for dumping, collecting clay/sand, chucking animals in, keeping animals in pastures and bla bla bla.

Very useful.

Rectangles are making rectangles.
Flow is like designing a bedroom, it expands and includes the walls, so you can make a weird shape (if the room is a weird shape) as a zone.
Flow floor it the same as flow, but it does not include the walls.

It makes selecting a specific area as a zone easier.

Thank you. I only tested it on a big outdoor pasture, so I did not see the differences, since there were no walls. :)

It's useful for indoor zones like hospitals.

you may not want dorfs in the bed see a friend bleed out on the table, for example. I'm sure that would upset them
