W.A.T. Yearly report

Research

Research:

Lab 1: Start Research into General Bio-Weapons and their possible application in rocketry (Secret Weapons Scientist +40) Work here progresses. However, several of scientists mention to you that developping bioweapons is against the Geneva conventions. There also seems to be a problem with the fact that rockets have a tendency to explodes in flames when landing, which could kill the diseases.

Lab 2: Research Larger Fuel Tanks (Fuel Scientist +10) Work here progresses. At the moment the capacity is very low, but the scientist say they can easily quadruple it.

Designs:

Build the Maximum of Regained II inclusive warheads what i can .
You build 2 regained II's with warheads.
Other:

We take a scientist specialising in Space Habitats (Life Support Modules, Space Colonies, Habitation Parts of Space Stations: anything that makes life in space or on other planets possible or easier).
You get a space habitat scientist.

Ask the German Government if they would be interested in Nuclear Powerplants. They are in fact interested. They would want to buy 2 of them for 15000 each, provided you build them.

You have 1 year left to supply the missiles. The German governement gives you 3000 to get the task done.

ASTRO Yearly report

Research:
Dr Smith will develop a monitoring computer (free) Work here progresses slowly.
Lab 1 will develop a specialised landing module with the help of Konrad Becker and the new hull scientist (-$1000) Work here progresses. The lander is ready. However, to reduce the weight costs, most of it's structure is very fragile, it will need to be stored inside the rocket while in the atmosphere.
Lab 2 will develop a small thruster (around the same size and weight as the thruster I am using at the moment) using an altitude compensating nozzle to make launches more efficient (-$1000) Work here progresses, a bit.
Research cost:$2000

Design:
None this year.

Production:
2 Redstone II (-$1550)
1 Life support module (-$1000)
Production cost:$2550

Construction:
None this year.

Launch:
Launch 1: Test flight of Redstone II in preparation for Launch 2.
The test flight isn't really sucesfull, with the primary stage giving some minor technical problems. Still, all ends up well.

Launch 2: Launch the life support module(with anyone ASTRO can find who is willing to go into space) into a low earth orbit using the Redstone II rocket. Have the life support module spend 24 hours in space unless the pilot encounters serious problems in which case abort the mission.
You manage to find a skilled commercial pilot who wants to go into space. The mission starts great, with the primary stage preforming up to spec. It was decoupled as planned, and then disaster struck. The second stage failed to ignite. However, one of the scientist noted the problem was identical to the one they got during the testflight, and managed to resolve the situation quite quickly.
There were no serious problems with the pilot, although he reported to suffer from serious desorientation.

Other:
-Purchase the docking module blueprints from CHASE(-$200)
- The new scientist got a job offer from a compagny specialising in heavy armor he couldn't refuse.

Total cost:$2000+$2550+$200=$4750

C.H.A.S.E. Yearly report

Research:
Lab 1st floor: Fix the XL not-at-all-safe thrusters. . Work here progresses quite fast.
Lab 2nd floor (under Yi Shing): Space Stations, theoretical. Work here goes fast. However, complexity will result in the requirement of extra funds.
Lab 3rd floor: Research a three-person carbon-filtration life support unit. I expect I'll use it on vehicles and as the backup unit aboard the space station. You begin work on a 3 person carbon filtration lifesupport unit. ( I assume this is one of the needs resupplies thingies.)

Design & Production
Nothing.

Construction
None.

Missions:
None.

Taikonaut Training:
Recruit a good (7+ on a scale of 10) taikonaut. ($1000) You get an exceptional taikonaut.

Other:
Aerospace department investment (year 3 of 5) ($1000)
Sell docking system blueprints for $200 to any interested parties.

Total expenses: $5,000

STARS Yearly report

Research
-Dr Faust makes the large thrusters more efficient. ( COmplexity= 2000)
-Team two designs a two stage rocket. WOrk here doesn't go very fluidly, though progress is made.

Construction
1 'El Parajo Cantor II'
2 'Vengador's ( 1 with the Thermobaric from the Regained II)

Missions
Launch the 'El Parajo Cantor II' with 2 'Mano de Ayuda's and a Comm Sat to stabalised MEO. The boosters are damaged beyond recovery.
The mission is a succes. +2 prestige

Other
Sell the 'Vengador's to the Generallisimo. Tell him the of the threat, and request a military presence as guards. The Generallisimo buys your rockets for 2000, and gives you a basic guard.

Speculate on 1) How to reply to an anonymous letter and 2) Why someone would want rockets if they were able to destroy STARS Base.
1) Telepathic rebels( Or just pathetic rebles). 2) To blow up more stuff

Expenditure
3850 (2k Thrusters, 1K second stage, 750 El Parajo, 1100 Vengadors)

[/quote]

The tables remain even. That's wy the generallisimo sees it fit to launch 2 vengadors . Both hit their targets.

Space Shuttle:  Decrease the weight, without breaking my computers.

Booster Rocket:  Increase the maximum size. Work here progresses. a bit.

Cockpit:  The pilot module for the space shuttle, so astronauts can steer it.  Crew of three.  The existing life support module can serve as the theoretical basis. Work here progresses, but not fast.

Components:
Booster Rocket hull (3 meter): 25*5-> 75kg
Small thruster (1 meter): 100kg, 800kg To LEO
Solid fuel tanks x2 (2 meter): 250kg

Actually, this thing is pretty much a joke at 3m.  Design it anyway, it's free!

Building:

None this time.  Damn you economy!

Other:  The Scotonaut, whose name is Henry, needs training.  Since he's already a natural, we'll train him by launching a Spear Mk III with him in the module!
The landingsmodule parachute failed to deploy. Henry will be missed.

Contact the government and see if they're interested in anti-missile defense systems, given the nearby tension. The governement isn't interested at the moment.

10ebbor10, do you mind elaborating on how my new lander module works (both for design and thrust purposes). Anyhow:

Research:
Dr Smith will improve the capacity of the small fuel tank (free)
Lab 1 will improve the reliability of the small AC thruster (what I'm going to call the altitude compensating small thruster from now on) (-$1000)
Lab 2 will improve the efficiency of the small AC thruster (-$1000)
Research costs:$2000

Design:
None this year.

Construction:
Add a third floor to the labs (-$10000)
Construct an astronaut training facility (-$5000)
Construction costs:-$15000

Production:
2 Redstone II rockets (-$1550)
2 SEA satellites (-$2000)
Production costs:$3550

Launch:
Launch 1&2: Launch a SEA satellite into a stable low earth orbit using a Redstone II to study the space environment.

Other:
Announce that ASTRO is offering the services of 2 future SEA satellite launches for any organisations interested in space science. For a fee, of course.

Total cost: $20550

1) First you design the lander. This is similair to an normal design, except that your thrust requirements are divided by 2.(Ie 50%). You're designing it to land on the moon, after all. Don't forget to include lifesupport and such.
2)Then you need to design/build a rocket which can carry the entire lander in it's cargo hold.

For the carrier rocket the lander counts as a payload.( The carrier stays in orbit around the moon). The actual moonlanding is done by the lander.

That 50% thrust includes Landing and Taking off. After you take off you can reconnect to the waiting carrier rocket and either dump the LM or take it back with you.
