10ebbor10, if I want to put 3 people in space at the same time, can the life support module do this with enough research or do I need to research a bigger life support module or some sort of space capsule? Also, does the life support module allow me to do EVAs (assuming that I had developed EVA suits)?
The lifesupport module does allow that, however that would need you to depressurize it. (It doesn't coem with an airlock).

I think that if you want to put 3 people in space you better design a new capsule.

Turn 12: 1957-1958
World news:

Experts warned that the ongoing civil war in SPain had severly weakened the financial sistuation of several major banks and cooperations, who lost most of their investements. Today their theories are proven, as the first holding collapsed. Economists are afraid it'll trigger a chain reaction , resulting in the collapse of financial systems world wide.

W.A.T. Yearly report

Research

Lab 1: Research on powerplants ( + 40 Weapon Scientist). Work here progresses fast, and soon a breakthrough is made. ( You know I don't consider powerplants weapons, do you?)
Lab 2: Finish the damn Kerosene (+10 Fuel Scientist) WOrk here continues. The scientist thinks he reached a respectable level of thrust, but when given extra funds he thinks he can upgrade it even further.(2000 to upgrade)

Production
Build again 2 Regained II inclusive warheads
DOne

Other
Give the Government their 2 Rockets. They gracioulsy accept them.
ask if they want to buy the other 2 also...if not try and reestablish contact with the Basques and sell them to those guys. You deliver the 2  rockets to your governement and in return recieve 4000 in warfunding. Now they mandate another 4 missels. Deadline 2 years. You got 4000 for it.

Other: The governement decides to give you a first pick out of the various students graduating this Year.( random roll. You get a free scientist and can chose which type).

Expenses: 2100 For Rockets and Warheads, 2000 For Research: 4100 Total

ASTRO Yearly report

Research:
Dr Smith will increase the operational lifetime of the SEA satellite (-1000) Work here progresses.
Lab 1 will increase the weight capacity of the life support module (-$2000) They manage to increase the weight capacity by +- 20 kg
Lab 2 will increase the reliability of the life support module further (-$2000) Lab2 Nearly blew themselves up. (Saved by scientist bonues)
Research cost:$4000

Design:
None this year.

Production:
1 Redstone II (-$775)
1 SEA satellite (-$1000)
Production cost:$1775

Construction:
Expand the factory to be able to produce 20m of rocket per year(-$5000)
Expand the mission control to be able to control 2 missions per year(-$5000)
Construction cost:$10000

Launch:
Selene I: launch a SEA satellite with a Redstone II past the moon and have it take photos of the far side of the moon.
The rocket lauch is far from perfect. The first stage failed to ignite on the first try but eventually your sattelite was send on it's way. It send a lot of pictures of the moon home. You released a few in public, resulting in a prestige boost.  The scientist are sure they could get better photos if they could upgrade it's lifespan.
+4 ¨Prestige

Other:
ASTRO will ask the USAF for one of their test pilots to become the first American in space. The USAF isn't interested nor are their pilots. Really, you must've made a really bad impression. They kindly reminded you of the fact that you are the only space agency with deaths at the moment.

Random event: Another hull scientist applied for a job.

Total cost:$5000+$1775+$5000=$16775

CHASE

CHASE

Research:
Lab 1st floor: Research 3m tall safe thrusters.  Research here goes slowly.
Lab 2nd floor (under Yi Shing): Space Stations, theoretical. Work here progresses a bit, but not fast. The spacestations parts are functional though
Lab 3rd floor: Life support, theoretical. Work here progresses slowly.

Design & Production
Nothing.

Construction
Launchpad: Support taller rockets ($5000)

Missions:
None.

Taikonaut Training:
Recruit two great (8+ on a scale of 10) scientists or engineers. Inexperienced candidates are allowed if they show particularly good potential. Candidates must be physically fit. Piloting experience is non-essential. ($5000)

You originally found 2 good and willing candidates. Sadly one of them suffered from heart problems and was therefore unable to go. The other one is fine though

Other:
Aerospace department investment (year 2 of 5) ($1000)

Total expenses: $14,000

STARS Yearly report

Research
-Dr Faust will stabilise the large thrusters more. Work heree progresses, as always, fast.

-Team two lightens the Single Stage hull. Work here progress slower.

Design
'Vengador' by Alexis Solsona[0.34]
Height: 3m
Weight: 751.5kg
Price: 800(300 rocket+500 payload)
Failure chance: 20%
Thrust: 562.5kg (1125 at 500km)
-Single Stage Hull (4m) = 267kg
-Small Thruster (1m) = 50kg
-Fuel Tanks (2m) = 250kg
-Thermobaric Warhead (1m) = 184.5kg

Construction
Build three 'Vengador's
Build three 'Mano de Ayudo's

Other
Offer the Generalissimo all the Vengador's, and demonstrate with one of them (by firing it at something) in a hope to get some military funding for more. You launch one the vengadors, which flies away and misses it's target by 300 meters. However the target is still destroyed by the bombs destructive potential. The Generallisimo buys your rockets for 2000, but asks that you keep the weapon secret for now.

Expenses
5150 (1k Thrusters, 1k Hull, 2400+750)

The rebels start a major offensive, and manage to attack and take out all governemental military launching sites.  They do use up all their rockets in the progress though. The tables are once again even.
[50][50]

A bit later you get an anonomous letter. Apparently someone wants to buy your rockets too, and threathens to attack your base if you do not comply.

DWARF Yearly report.

Research:
Space Shuttle:  Decrease the weight. Seems you still haven't got that Virus out of the system. To make it even worse, it damaged some of the computer by disabling their fans and deactiving the temp safeguards.( 2 K repairs)

Booster Rocket:  Design a simple booster rocket. Work here goes fast.

Monitor System:  A computerized monitoring system to increase the safety of launches. Work here goes vey fast. A computerized monitoring and feedback system will increase safety a lot.

Designs:
None today, but just you wait!

Building:
Build a Space Expo Center- a tourism/business department with the intent of attracting high-quality personnel to work here.  (Same as the perk, basically.)

Other:  Recruit a Scotonaut.  Make sure he's at least half decent.  Spend 2k on recruitment. You recruit an expceptional Scotonaut. You're pretty sure there's nothing you can teach him. He's just naturally good at these things.

Expenses:  10k  (3k research + 5k building+2k recuiting)

Kingfisher: ASC monthly report

ASC:

Research:
A sensor suite capable of detecting things from the orbit. Work here goes slowly.
Solar cells for space stations. Work here goes better
Manufacture:
5 Creepers, outfitted with explosives. Your manufactory works non stop but only manages to make 1  rocket.
Other:
Invest 2000$ in a local university for some scientists for 5 turns to PERMANATELY raise my Scientist chance.

The governement asks when you are going to deliver the 2  mandated missiles.

I think you accidentally put my lifetime upgrade on the life support module and not on the SEA satellite. In any case I probably am not going to be able to post for the next 2 days or so.

CHASE

CHASE
I was entirely too amused by this. Also, you merged the top of the status spoilers with the end of ansontan2000's turn.

Xin Su's heir had officially finished his education, yet Xin Su paid for another year out of his own pocket, both to further diversify the future director of CHASE's general knowledge, and as a statement that he could afford it even in in the depressed economy.

Research:
Lab 1st floor: Fix the XL not-at-all-safe thrusters.
Lab 2nd floor (under Yi Shing): Space Stations, theoretical.
Lab 3rd floor: Research a three-person carbon-filtration life support unit. I expect I'll use it on vehicles and as the backup unit aboard the space station.

As per CHASE's initiative to ensure that all manned Terran extraterrestrial assets are capable of emergency docking in relative safety, we are now willing to disclose our blueprints on docking systems for a mere $200 per interested organization, to cover our costs. The data shall be released to the public in 1965, free of charge.
