One quick question: how does my scientist's free research react to expensive researches? Can I research a $2000 topic for free or for $1000 (or do I not get any saving)? Also, you said something different regarding orbiting objects when I was researching my orbital satellite, but I suppose this game is still a work in progress.
One other thing: how much can this two-stage rocket put in a stable low earth orbit:
Proposed Design: Redstone II
Stage 1:
4m 2-stage hull (4*97=388kg)
3m fuel tank (3*125=375kg fuel)
Small thruster (1m, 100kg)
Stage 1 weight: 863 kg
Stage 1 thrust: 750 kg to LEO
Stage 2:
5m Single stage hull (5*62.5=312.5kg)
4m fuel tank (4*125=500kg fuel)
Small thruster (1m, 100kg)
Stage 2 weight: 912.5kg
Stage 2 thrust: 1000 kg to LEO
My calculations say this can put 426kg in a stable LEO, but this might have been with the old calculations (also assuming that this is a valid design). Also, can I increase how much fuel per meter height my fuel tank can store?

The launch was a glorious success.  The landing was poor, but Astro's survival was all that he needed.  The pundits were silenced- he had done it, and with time to spare!  Everything was going swimmingly.

Urist beamed as he scratched Astro behind his ears.  The vet said that he'd heal up nicely in a month or two, but he should avoid space flight for a while yet.  No matter- his career was over, and he had a life as a stud to look forward to.

No, there was no more interest in putting a dog in space.  The next leap would be far, far bolder.

Research:
Fuel scientist will research solid fuel, since normal fuel is tapped out.

Life Support Module:  Redesign it to support larger beings.

Large Thruster:  Still too explodey.  Explodey is bad!

Designs:
Even though it's no cost, I really can't come up with any more designs- there's not much point without swank new components.

Building:
Expand the car engine factory.

Other:
Arrange a press conference. Make an announcement that DWARF will put a man in space* within three years.   Make arrangements with the Air Force seeking a volunteer test pilot.

*As defined by LEO

Expenses-8k (3k research + 5k building)

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.
God help us if we have to agree on pizza toppings at some point. There will be no survivors.

The research sattelite doesn't count as a research lab. It hasn't got a cost to research things( exept for the cost of the sattelite) and gives you a bonus to the chosen field of research per turn. As the complexity increases the research bonus becomes smaler
Also, you said something different regarding orbiting objects when I was researching my orbital satellite, but I suppose this game is still a work in progress.
Work in progresss. :D I make up the rules as I go along. And yes I said something different but then I noticed that would make leaving Earth's gevitational field near impossible.

My calculations say 509.47.
And yes you can increase the amount of fuel stored in each tank.

What I meant was that I get a free research every turn due to my scientist leader. Does this mean that a research that costs $2000 like my small thruster that is done by my leader cost $2000, $1000 or nothing?

Good question, haven't thought of that yet.
I think it would cost 1000

Alright then. My turn:

Research:
Dr Smith will start work on increasing the efficiency of the small thruster (-$2000+$1000=-$1000)
Lab 1 will work on increasing fuel power (-$1000)

Research cost: $2000

Design:
Redstone II:

Total height: 9m
Total weight: 1775.5kg
Stage 1:
4m 2-stage hull (4*97=388kg)
3m fuel tank (3*125=375kg fuel)
Small thruster (1m, 100kg)
Stage 1 weight: 863 kg
Stage 1 thrust: 750 kg to LEO
Stage 2:
5m Single stage hull (5*62.5=312.5kg)
4m fuel tank (4*125=500kg fuel)
Small thruster (1m, 100kg)
Stage 2 weight: 912.5kg
Stage 2 thrust: 1000 kg to LEO

Design Cost: $2000 plus however much the Redstone II costs

Production:
None this year

Launch:
None this year

Construction:
None this year

Other:
Announce the launch of a satellite to study space conditions near Earth in the next 4 years

Total Cost: $4000+cost of Redstone II

You know that I spent between double or triple the amount of your turn then on others turns.
Also fun fact: The latest update was 22000 characters long.

Also, Kingfisher, you double posted

Actually, is it possible to reduce the cost of spacecraft parts?

Anything is possible, since I'm making up rules as I go along. However, maybe you shouldn't do it, as the amount of cash you would gain from it wouldn't be that big and it'd like to be able to use the same formulas for everyone.
