W.A.T. Yearly report

Research:
Research a two-stage hull
Research on the 2 Stage hull goes well. Much progress is made.

Design & Production
Continue Production on Regained II with thermobaric payloads
2 Regained II's are produced and armed with warheads.

Construction
Build a Lab Extension. An extra floor is added to the lab for 5000 money units.
(Next upgrade: 10000)
Other:
Continue our trade connections with the Basques. You manage to sell your rockets once more, but the Basques say they have more than enough rockets now. The rockets sold for 3000 money units.

Expenses:
1000 (Warheads)+ 1050(rockets)+ 5000( Lab)

ASTRO Yearly report

Research:
Work on the SEA sattelite goes slow, and the power requirements from the instruments and the large communicators weight down the thing considerably and limit it's life expectancy
Lab 1 reports they have improved the thrusters reliability as much as they possibly can. However the extra safety mesures complicate the  design( 2000 cost for thruster upgrade)
Lab 2 very nearly almost blew up the lab, and no progress is made.
Research Cost: $2000

Design
None this year, but I believe my current technology allows me to design a 2-stage rocket that can put a 1286kg payload into a stable Low Earth Orbit.

Production
1 Explorer satellite
Production Cost: $500

Launch
The launch goes well, though the rockets stability could have been better, and soon your sattelite is in orbit around planet Earth.
Prestige: +3

Other
The FBI does some research but gives up quickly whitout finding anything usefull.

Total cost: $2500

C.H.A.S.E. Yearly report

Research:
Lab 1st floor: Create a solar powered radio satellite (May be as large and as heavy as the Exploitation allows). Work on integrating the powercells with the current sattelite tech goes fast.
Lab 2nd floor: Exploitation of solar cells in civilian markets. Work here goes fast. After all, publicity is good and your solar pannels are of exceptionnal quality( These things survive in space afterall). However their high costs result in a very low profit margin. Also, a minor investement(5000) is required to set up the shops and factories.

Design & Production
Build an Exploitation class light cargo rocket: -$750
DOne
Construction
Upgrade Factory to 20m/year: -$5000
Done
Missions:
None

Other:
Press Conference: -$1000
New goal: The first practical, long-term radio satellite in the world will be launched by CHASE within three years.
The press conference is a major succes, earning you a lot of funds and possible sattelite buyers.
+4 Prestige

Total expenses: -$8750[/quote]

STARS Yearly report

Research
- Dr Faust repeats once more that they can't make the thrusters more efficient. So he spends the next year improving the thrusters safety to the maximum technical vieable level. There isn't much left to add anymore, but Dr. Faust thinks he might be able to make the thrusters lighter or increase their burning speed given enough funds( Further thruster safety reseach impossible, further efficiency research impossible). Lowering weight or max capacity possible, but for the cost of 3000)

-Fun fact about nitroglycerin, it explodes when shaked or dropped. Some lab equipment got damaged and had to be replaced.( 500) No progress was made.

Design

Modifying the design is not needed, as payloads are easily switchable

Production
Fit the 'El Perajo Cantor II' with a comm satellite. ( Cost 500)
Missions
Launch the modified 'El Perajo Cantor II'
The launch goes well, and Stars earns some new funds.
+3 Prestige.

Other

Expenses
4000 (2K thrusters Research + 1k warhead research+ 500 explosion damage+ 500 sattelite)

Random Event: You recieved some extra fundings from the governement who want you to hurry up with your research.(+1000)
War event: The situation is quickly turning into a civil war. The rebels blew up a bridge near your base, and you had to pay for it yourself if you wanted suplly shipments to resume.(-1000)

DWARF Yearly report.

Research:
Progress is swift, but your scientists inform you that they have no reached the maximum efficiency.

Two stage hull:  You progress to make the fuel lighter.

Large Thruster:  Progress on the thrusters is swift.

Designs:
[Personal Design]

The Spear Mk III

Height: 20m
Weight:  4550 kg
Available Payload: 3122
Components:

Stage 1:
2 stage hull (10 meter): 100*10-> 1000kg
Large thruster (2 meter): 400kg, 3125kg To LEO
Normal fuel tanks x8 (8 meter): 1000kg
Weight: 2400kg

Stage 2
1 stage hull ( 10 meter): 75*10-> 750kg
Large thruster (2 meter): 400kg, 3125kg To LEO
Normal fuel tanks x8 (8 meter): 1000kg
Weight:  2150 kg

Building:
Expand the launch pad to allow 20m rocket launches. DONE
COnstruction:
Spear MK1 + Dogmobile
Launch:
The launch goes well, and after barely half an hour in space the dog drops back to earth. The Parachute deploys correctly and soon the dog is back on earth. The landing is a bit hard though and the dog breaks several bones, but overall the whole mission is a succes.
Prestige: + 5

Kingfisher: ASC monthly report

Research

Research lighter hulls. Research progresses, but not very fast

Design
None

Missions
None
Other
Build another Research Lab and PM action.
Expenses
5k in building+ 1K science+ 2K?????.

C.a.s.p.

Research: Research on the thrusters progresses

Designs: nothing!

Other: The convincing of the governement proves somewhat difficult. They prefer to remain neutral.

You can design a booster just like you would design a rocket. Then, when you need a little extra power you can build these and add them to your rocket( up to 4).

Just noticed an error in them though. Weight needs to be 25  instead of 100.

Ok, so they're basically mini rockets and thus need their own thrusters and fuel. Do they disconnect once empty, or do I need to do more research for that?

They automatically disconnect and thus do not weight the rocket down.

Awesome :) I'll do my turn shortly.

Damn. Who'd have though explosives were dangerous? Real joker I am. That was a bit of a setback, but at least no one was hurt. The Generalissimo is getting anxious about the rebels throwing rockets around, we really need to get something workable done.

Research
- Dr Faust works on making the thrusters lighter
- The second research team continues working with explosives

Design
'Mano de Ayuda' by Alexis Solsona
Height: 2m
Weight:275kg
Thrust:281.25kg
-Booster (2m) = 50kg (2*25)
-Thruster (1m) = 100kg
-Fuel (1m) = 125kg

Production
Build a second 'Mayo de Ayuda' (to pair with the prototype)

Missions
Launch the 'El Perajo Cantor II' with the pair of 'Mano de Ayudo' s attached.
Other

Expenses
4.5k (3K for thrusters + 1K explosives + approx 500 for second booster)

Your solar sat costs 1500.

Also, I'm might not have been clear on this or even miscalculated it but when pushing stuff into an orbit only the weight of the thing you want to get in orbit is increased by 10%.

So is that just the payload, or just the final stage of the rocket?

Just the payload. Otherwise moonrockets are almost impossible.
