Research: Mass Drivers, VASIMIR with general scientist, space ballistics.
Manufacture: A Panchea.
Other: Use The Panchea in a campaign to increase support of my program.
EDIT: Toaster, yes to that deal.

I'm getting pretty slack on this!

Kingfisher appears to keep missing that I want his mass driver tech, even when he is in a cash crunch.

Research:
[Electronics Expert] Continue theoretical work on unmanned rovers.  (1k)

[Thruster Expert]  Continue work onto ionic thrusters. (1k)

Theoretical research into nuclear fission-based power sources. (1k)

Increase the max height of the Space Shuttle hull.  (2k)

Increase the max height of booster rockets! (1k)

Designs:

Nope, no design.

Building:

Expand factory to 30m rockets (10k)

Other:

Pay Nirur 5k for launch funding.

Hold a Space Expo for 5k.

Trade Kingfisher 12.5k for his superconductor/mass driver tech.

Expenses: 38.5k (6k research, 10k construction, 5k payment, 5k expo, 12.5k trade).

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.
God help us if we have to agree on pizza toppings at some point. There will be no survivors.

Kingfisher:  What deal?  What do you want for the mass driver tech?

EDIT- If you mean superconductor + mass driver for 12.5k, then deal.  I'll edit turn accordingly.

Also, edited turn slightly.

10ebbor10:  I'm thinking ionic thrusters will be good once I no longer depend on combustion for launching (IE using mass drivers or space-based launches.)  They'd be electrically-powered thrusters that are only good outside atmosphere- useful for craft that never/rarely land on a surface.  Really, not useful now but in the future.

Sorry for double post but I just want to remind Ebbor that this monstrosity can be updated. Also the new player wanted to troll us by releasing a plague.

Anyone want to join me with the long-term goal of creating a slower-than-light extra-solar colony ship? Its target would obviously be too far off to manage or trade with, but it would probably give a large prestige boost, and is a nice goal to aim for.
I like Epsilon Eridani as a colonization candidate, for being similar to our own star, although the game may well end before the colony ship travels 10.5 light years.
Well want practical experience in self-sufficient colonies on hostile worlds, in case there are no inhabitable planets on the system. I suspect most of us intend to colonize other planets regardless, so this should be easy.
I'll likely be (slowly) building the orbital infrastructure create such a large ship. I'll probably research supermassive fusion engines at some point, and possibly a matter scoop to refuel in-flight. I'm not sure exactly what else we'll need, other than the infrastructure to cheaply send things into orbit (I'm not sending 10k+ people into space with rockets), cryogenic hibernation, asteroid mining & processing, and a light-speed communication array.

They'll need to be fully prepared to colonize an uninhabitable system. We don't have time to send out probes and wait for the results.

Is this a very subtle: "You should update now message?"

Why use STL when we can work to defy physics through other means? Though I am willing to help with a joint colonization mission.

I thought I was being pretty blatant.

I think it was stated somewhere that we'd only get STL travel. Plus, this is taxing enough on Ebbor without yet another layer to manage.

Hmm... Really, well maybe we could have wormholes?

I just want to build the SS Up Yours Einstein

I never understood how wormholes where supposed to work. Sure, the part where two black holes are connected for some reason is easy enough to understand, but how are you supposed too:

A: Get through them whitout getting spaghettied
B: Get back out of them. It's a black hole after all, no escaping it whitout breaking the speed of light.

I read the wiki, and it seems it all relies on the existence and easy manipulation of exotic matter with a negative energy density.

First of all I am the bull faction, second of all you do need to place the wormhole on the other side.

I was under the impression that a wormhole was not a seperate space time phenomenon, but just a name for a hypotetical scenario where two (or possibly one) black holes are linked together. The bend in space time exists at both points, meaning that whitout FTL travel, negative energy matter to negate the effects, or other wormholes types, like the Schwarzschild wormhole. (Which was, in fact, theoretically discovered by Einstein). Note that the latter type is extremely unstable, as the smallest amount of matter falling into it could disturb it.

Then there's also the point that there are no black holes anywhere near Earth, and that you haven't even set foot on the moon yet.

I always thought that they were where on the plane of space you pinch two points together. This would be a little bit easier for me because I have gravity generation
