I'd expected this to die from too much math for the GM to keep track of, not from player disinterest. Sadness.

Sorry- busy week and this fell through the cracks.

Kingfisher:  I am still interested in trading for or buying your mass driver research.

Research:
[Electronics Expert] Continue theoretical work on unmanned rovers.  (1k)

[Thruster Expert]  Improve Large Thrusters more- safety/power/weight, in that order. (I forget what's maxed out.) (2k?)

[Fuel Expert]  Increase the thrust (or if that's maxed, safety) of Solid Fuel. (2k)

Increase the max height of the Space Shuttle hull.  (2k)

Increase the max height of booster rockets! (1k)

Designs:

Nope, no design.

Building:

None today.

Other:

See Nirur's turn.  My launch schedule is in that.  Scotonaut order:  3 2 5 1 4

Expenses: 8k research, I believe.

Yup by the way if I don't post I am either eating, sleeping, swimming, or most likely playing Endless Space. I guess my turn would be this

Recruit a biologist 3k

Construct second floor for lab 5k

Research Small energy conversion with the Quantum physicist 1k

Research Advanced Autopilot options with Vince for free

Expenses 9k

Vince looked down at the Sketchpad of God, his angencies mission was to replicate this, like that would be possible. It was said that one night Leonardo de Vinci went out drinking and when he went home he started humming in English something like Its Friday Friday got to get down on Friday... the point is that he wrote this in perfect modern English but the Pope seized and gave its name. Then there was a long chain of events that involved it being shot out of a cannon twice, hit by a shell in flight once, being at nuclear test zone, reforming after being eaten by a goat 20 times, and finally being headbutted by SS trooper and flying into one of our old scientist possesion he built one quantum inhibitor before being hit by a car.

Actually the motto needs to change to: What are the odds

Turn 24: 1969-1970
World news:

Following recent trade boycots , caused by the Austrian German war, the economy of Austria has almost completly collapsed. The crash is quite severe, and while the Austrian governement has managed to avoid bankruptcy, it doesn't look like it's going to get better anytime soon. Quite a few important economists also fear that this might lead to another economical crises, as panicks spreads and stock prices are dropping over the board. ((Here we go again))

One mayor research organisation went out of bussines, and is donating stuff to the common good. You get to decide what that is. LOOK BELOW

Spoiler: Austrian armamanent (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Spanish governement (click to show/hide)

Research:
Dr Smith will continue researching nuclear technology (free)Highly radioactive isotopes are accidentally spilled in the lab, decontamination will cost 4000
Lab 1 with the help of Robert Caldwell will increase the power of the kerosene fuel further (-$1000)Progress is made
Lab 2 with the help of the electronics scientist will improve the communications abilities of the solar powered comms sat (-$1000)Work progresses
Lab 3 will increase the success chance of the 3 person capsule. If the maximum success chance is reached increase the capacity. (-$1000)Progress is made
Lab 4 will investigate robotic space rovers (-$1000)Some progress is made
Research cost: $4000

Design:
None this year.

Construction:
Upgrade my labs to give a +15 bonus to research (-$15000 I believe)Nope, 20.000
Construction cost: $15000

Production:
2 LTSEA satellites (-$3000)
Production cost: $3000

Launch:
Launch the 2 LTSEA satellites into a stable LEO with the Hyperion. Have one of them act as a weather satellite (try to get $1650 from the US government for this) and the other study solar flares.
Both launch and reentry are succesfull. Unfortunately, the US doesn't seem willing to give out free money, citing the recent financial troubles due to the Austrain crisis.

Other:
Aerospace Department (year 2 of 5): -$1000
I vote that the world gets Nanotechnology and light hull alloy (I don't have any strong preferences for the third technology if that's alright) and computer miniturisation.
Attempt to sell bandwidth on the comms satellite already launched to various communications companies, and see if they are interested in having any more satellites launched.
Other cost: $1000
One telecom compagny pays you 1000 to use the sattelite to test things out for a while.

Total cost: $28000

CHASE

Research:
Lab 1st floor (Propulsion Expert): XL Safe Thruster fuel efficiency. ($2000) The thrusters have been optimized.
Lab 2nd floor: 10m fuel tank capacity A prototype of the tank seemed to be less capable of whitstanding the pressure then expected. The lab was damaged when the fuel rreached an open flame. (Repair cost 4000)
Lab 3rd floor (Shaiming Hu): Tripod RC repair drone success rate Work here progresses fast and soon the robots are optimized. There's still a large chance of failure, but that's why the are astronauts at the controls.
Lab 4th floor (Specialized for space stations) (Yi shing): Large Sleeping Quarters' duration ($2000)Work here goes fast
Spacelab: Space Heatlh Studies (Share results with Toaster)Work here goes well.

Design & Production
None.

Construction
Repair damaged lab ($5000)Done, and then blown up again
Lab 5th floor ($30,000) [first priority for removing if I go overbudget.]Done

Missions:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Taikonauts:
Recall Taikonaut 1.
Tiruin and Taikonauts 1, 5, 6, 8, and 9 will not be training to improve their skills between station stays.
If Taikonauts die in the line of duty, give $1000 to their families.
In the unlikely event that a crew swapping mission fails, the station crew will receive a bonus for staying out the year.

Other:
Aerospace department investment (year 4 of 5) ($1000) (preferred specialty: Fusion) [Not needed]
Use PR on my second launch. Press is not interested
Vote on only lighter hulls going open source. Nanobots would be exceedingly dangerous in the hands of terrorists.
Apply for governmental permits to research fusion technology for non-weaponized purposes.Permits acquired

Total expenses: $50,566

Research
-Dr Faust increases the Fuel Use of the Vasimirs Work here progresses quite fast
-Dr Fuerza designs batteriesWork here progresses fast
-Floor three improve the recovery rate of the BoostersWork here goes quite fast too

Design

Height: 3m
Weight: 463kg
Price:450
Failure chance: 15%
Booster Bonus: 297.5kg
-Small Thruster 1m (50kg)
-Fuel tanks 2m (169*2=338kg)
-Booster 3m (25*3=75kg)

Construction
Build a third floor to the Manufactory (30m of rocket!!)

Other
Once again, look for potential scientists (3000) You manage to attract not one, but 2 scientists. One is reasonably skilled in everything, while the other is an expert in fuel research

Expenditure:
26000 (20k Manufactory, 3k scientist hunt, 1k Vasimirs, 1k Batteries, 1k Boosters)

DWARF

Research:
[Electronics Expert] Continue theoretical work on unmanned rovers.  (1k)Work progresses, but slow

[Thruster Expert]  Improve Large Thrusters more- safety/power/weight, in that order. (I forget what's maxed out.) (5k)Work progresses fast

[Fuel Expert]  Increase the thrust (or if that's maxed, safety) of Solid Fuel. (2k) Safety of solid fuel optimlized

Increase the max height of the Space Shuttle hull.  (2k)Progress is made

Increase the max height of booster rockets! (1k)Some progress is made

Expenses: 11k research, I know

Kingfisher: ASC monthly report

Research: Mass Driver led by that dude Work here goes really fast (3 K)
,VASIMIR There's a small explosion in the lab, but nothing really bad
Superconductors. Progress is amde

Design: None
Build: None
Other: Reattempt the promise, spending 2000 to butter up the press.Your bold statement gives quite an impression ,considering the state of the economy.
+4 prestige
