I don't see the booster rocket design in my list.

Also, Noooooooooo
I do see it. And yeah that roll was pretty bad.

Also, fun fact. The Turn post is now about 33.000 characters long. When we come to close to 40.000(Long way of though) I might have to dump some stuff.

@ Ansontan: You need to provide space for the charges in your rocket. Also, It's easier for me if you add up the weight and thrust already.( The weight of the fueltanks is equal to the amount of fuel in them)

Urist knew it was time to get down to business.  There was enough groundwork laid to come up with a prototype space shuttle.  Given the current state of some of the components, he wasn't sure it could actually launch, but there was time enough to construct more and better boosters.  Starting now would give him time to come up with an ideal design.

Research:
Space Shuttle:  Decrease the weight more.

Booster Rocket:  Increase the maximum size.

Cockpit module:  Decrease the weight.

Designs:

[Personal Design]
Explorer Space Shuttle
Height: 20m
Weight:  12405 kg
Available Payload: N/A (Can't launch under own power)
Thrust: 4687.5 kg

Components:

Space Shuttle hull (20m): 20*444 = 8880 kg
Large thruster (2 meter): 350kg, 4687.5kg To LEO
Normal fuel tanks  (15 meter): 1875 kg
Computer Feedback:  100kg
Cockpit module (3 meter):  1200 kg

Building:

Expand the labs again for another research slot.  (20k)

Other:

Pay the $200 to China for the docking plans.

Expenses: 23.2k  (3k research 20k construction 200 trade)

Ghazkull?

(Not that I'm planning on updating today, but just as a reminder)

Also @ Toaster. I thought I had said the expansions went like this: 5000 10000 20.000 30.000, 40.000.

I went and looked through the thread. It is indeed 20.000

Also apparently 20000 was only said 4  times in the entire thread.

Great if everybody just puts his dirty dishes and assorted stuff into the sink and then forgets about it ignoring the huge heap of  cutlery, dishes and assorted other stuff, which has began to develop life on a degree which i would call mid-renaissance. And then when im for a moment in the kitchen i get yelled at for not perpetrating massive genocide and cleaning off the shit...thats the problem when your leaving with 3 people and you have no list or order in which somebody has to clean shit up...

anyway:

Research:

Develop Living Quarters for stations. (+10 Space Habitat Guy)

Continue Larger Fuel Tanks (+10 Fuel Scientist)

Construction:

Construct 1 Small Nuclear Powerplant

Other:

Sell off the Nuclear Powerplant in an official PR Act declaring that Germany can now provide cheap energy for its people

Sell off the remaining two Regained II inclusive the warheads to the Government

Turn 14: 1959-1960
Note: In an attempt to speed up turns, I will now only recalculate designs on demand, rather then always.
Also on Taikonaut training, you can increase the training speed. ( Speed training run) but that might result in casualties.

W.A.T. Yearly report

anyway:

Research:

Develop Living Quarters for stations. (+10 Space Habitat Guy) Your scientist somehow manage to make the model go up in flames, no progress is made but the science guy manages to prevent anything crucial to become damaged.

Continue Larger Fuel Tanks (+10 Fuel Scientist). WOrk on the fuel tank progresses quite fast.

Construction:

Construct 1 Small Nuclear Powerplant. Construction is quick and whitout problems.

Other:

Sell off the Nuclear Powerplant in an official PR Act declaring that Germany can now provide cheap energy for its people. The P.R. action goes less well, some environemental activists protest against the opening of the powerplant, and several newspaper jump onto it. Nevertheless, the deal is made.

Sell off the remaining two Regained II inclusive the warheads to the Government.  You recieve 4000 for your efforts. The governement thinks they have enough heavy weaponry now, and ask you for something smaller.

ASTRO Yearly report

Research:
Dr Smith will improve the capacity of the small fuel tank (free) Work progresses well here. However, you're pretty sure you reached the max capacity now.
Lab 1 will improve the reliability of the small AC thruster (what I'm going to call the altitude compensating small thruster from now on) (-$1000) Work progresses well.
Lab 2 will improve the efficiency of the small AC thruster (-$1000) Work progresses quite well here.
Research costs:$2000

Design:
None this year.

Construction:
Add a third floor to the labs (-$10000) Done
Construct an astronaut training facility (-$5000) Done
Construction costs:-$15000

Production:
2 Redstone II rockets (-$1550)
2 SEA satellites (-$2000)
Production costs:$3550

Launch:
Launch 1&2: Launch a SEA satellite into a stable low earth orbit using a Redstone II to study the space environment.( WHich part of space environnement. This time I let them look at the Solar flares, but you can give up other aspects, like radiation.

Launch 1: The launch goes well, but not perfect. Research results are abudant.
Launch 2: Perfect launch. Research results are abudant.

Other:
Announce that ASTRO is offering the services of 2 future SEA satellite launches for any organisations interested in space science. For a fee, of course.
No corporations sign up. Maybe some of the other spaceorganistations are interested?

Total cost: $20550

C.H.A.S.E. Yearly report

Liang Chou, Xin Su's heir, had finally joined the company, as the director's personal assistant. It was a good day for celebrating.

Research:
Lab 1st floor: Improve the XL not-yet-safe thrusters. Work here progresses fast.
Lab 2nd floor (Yi shing): Research space station sleeping quarters. Work here goes slowly. The pod is quite uncomfortable, and prolonged stays are illadvised.
Lab 3rd floor: Reduce the weight of my carbon-filtration life support unit. Progress is slow here, but the scientist manage to shed a lot of weight.

Design & Production
Nothing.

Construction
Upgrade the training limit on my taikonaut training facility. ($10,000?) Done.

Missions:
None.

Taikonaut Training:
Recruit three taikonauts. ($3000)
Your new recruits don't seem to be very bright, but proper training could help with this.

Other:
Aerospace department investment (year 4 of 5) ($1000)

Total expenses:  $17,000

STARS Yearly report

Research
-Dr Faust stabilises the Large thruster more. Work progresses well here, the maximum technical safety has been reached.
-Continue work on the two stage. The explosives the lads were testing for detaching the stages were a bit to strong. Damage is estimated at 4000

Construction
Build one 'El Parajo Cantor II' and 2 'Vengador's

Missions
Launch an 'El Parajo Cantor II', with Comm sat and 2 Boosters to stabilised MEO. The launch is succesfully, but yields nothing usefull. The press isn't impressed either, after all , they've seen this before. However Alexis speach managed to leave a good impression: +1 prestige. The booster are once more to damaged to be recycled.

Other
Sell the 2 'Vengador's to the Generalissimo. You manage to get 2500 for them.
Apply Alexis's l33t PR skills to the launch
Send out a notice that STARS is still hiring scientists, and is willing to fund private tutoring for promising applicants. No replies, maybe the fact that thecountry is in civil war is scaring away people?
Dismantle the Regained II into parts, and recycle anything inferior to STARS technology. You dismantle the Regained II, but the parts are either to damaged.(Rockets aren't made to be taken apart) or inferior. You get 500 out of the salle of the scrap metal.

Expenditure
6850+4K(damage) (2k thrusters, 1k two stage, 750 El Parajo Cantor II, 500 comm sat(Commsat weigth=/= price, 1600 Vengadors, 1000 advertising scientist positions)

The rebels are being pushed back slowly. However they manage to launch a full frontal assault on your position. The Russian tanks and troops are overwhelmed and your supplies are cut off again. WHat was left of the defense has retreated to the compound perimeter.

The computing hub isn't needed, and solar power array aren't needed either. You just add panels to the general structure.( Up to 2 per 1 meter compartiment, and 4 per 2 meter). You can research an array though that can accomodate more.( Note: If the pannels are launched seperatly, you have to do a spacewalk to attach them.
