Curious structure
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:27:28 am »

In my desperate search for candy I uncovered a naturally occurring smoothed wall and I got the message that I've uncovered a curious underground structure, is digging through this wall safe or fun?

If the thing is what I think it is, you can't dig through the wall. There's an entrance though. Explore the structure and open it.

Watch out though, there're some undead inside it.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Before I dug around the wall my other dig team discovered a lava lake that apparently gave me sightline into the carnicval staging ground but I never checked inside of it. I only discovered that I could see into it when I opened the units menu to kill a zombie milkfish that had been keeping all of my carpenters from chopping down the trees and saw a massive amount of undead creatures and some clowns which led me to believe that Armageddon was around the corner but luckily they were all inside of the structure and not marching towards my gates.

I'm scared.

also, claim what is rightfully yours. at the bottom. in the center.

Don't be a dick - you know perfectly well what would happen if he did that.

He would obtain a masterwork candy weapon?

In all my fortresses, I've never found one of these structures. I hope the next version will spawn one for me; that'll be the ultimate Funtasmic adventure.

DFHack's prospector tells you if it exists, if you want to force the issue.

You can tell if one is there right away, because the candy weapon shows up in the rooms list, stocks, and on the list for upright traps.

removing the wall isn't the problem. if you killed the circus you'll probably kill the zombie apocalypse that spews forth from these death traps. what you need to really be afraid of is the adamantine weapon in the center of the place, removing it will cause clowns to come out from the lower levels. so you'll probably die.

There is ALWAYS at least one in every 16x16 tile. And you can see it with R in building list. So easy way to find it is to embark on every square(or do little large embark) until you find it.
