Welcome to the Caucus!

The public has had their say, in three different ways, now. Now, it is time for things to change a little bit. It is time for the party itself to have it's say. It is time for the Caucus!

As they gather in the grand hall, the nominees talk amongst themselves. Before this recent reprieve, it had been several days in a row since the last Liberal attack ad. Had they truly driven them from the race? Could it be that they have finally purged themselves of the Liberal scum? Perhaps, perhaps. Last night seemed to have indicated otherwise, however. Someone ran attack ads against Tiriun during the break, but they didn't seem very liberal. Were the liberals simply wising up, or did a conservative take justice into their own hands? Worse, someone ran ads against NativeForeigner filled with viciously presented inside information. If anything was indicative of liberal work, it was that one... or was it? Perhaps one of their own had resorted to the same tactics the Liberal's had used to insure his own victory... Regardless, there was a Caucus to win, and such thoughts needed to be put behind them for the moment.

The Party Leaders of old gathered around the head table to make an announcement. The Caucuses would be run slightly different than last time - no more would the Good Ol' Party wait until the election proper to announce their vice president. Oh no, they did not want a repeat of LAST time, where a late game VP choice... well... everyone recalled with far too much clarity how the sitting President had been elected. And the Republican party was not running that risk again.

So with so many members in the race, it has been decided that people should pick their VP candidates during the Caucus as well.

And then, with the ring of a bell, they were off! The wheeling and dealing began, as each nominee did their best to curry favour among the party elite. It was a dangerous day - they all knew that anyone who could not muster up enough support today was simply dead in the water.

Tiruin was killed during the night!
NativeForeigner was killed during the night!

Today is a very special day, mostly due to the absurd amount of rules violations! Here's a convenient list:
1) Eliminated players may post freely.
2) Every nominee who gets less than 5 points will be eliminated.
3) Players may PM me day issue shifts, as before.
4) Players may PM each other freely, so long as I am copied in to the messages.
5) Running Players may PM me their desired VP, from the list of eliminated players or a "safe" (imaginary) VP, who provides no benefit but is definitely not Liberal Scum.
6) Eliminated Players may each "Endorse" a single candidate, giving them 2 points. To do this, PM me the endorsement.
7) Neither of the above PMs can be sent to any other players, only to me in particular.
8) When day ends, they will get points for both their own stances, AND their VP stances, assuming they choose their VP from the list of candidates. Issues points will be tallied the same way they were yesterday - 1 point for close, 2 points for on the money.
9) Any player may choose, at any point, to publicly announce their withdrawal from the race. They immediately become an "Eliminated" player, with access to the Also-Rans chat, the ability to Endorse, and the ability to be chosen as a VP.
10) VPs super-win if the candidate they are attached to Super-wins. They are eliminated if the player they are attached to is eliminated. Any ability that targets their nominee ALSO targets them. Essentially, a nominee and his VP are the same player, mechanically. They can also always PM each other (assuming I'm copied in), even on the days that follow. If they want, I'll even give them a Quick Chat.

...
Have fun! I'm available to answer any questions. This might be the day you want to use your (48 hour) extend, to give you a nice four days to make decisions. But that's up to you!

Public Opinion:
Social: Super-Conservative
Religious: Conservative
Economic: Super-Conservative

Day ends in roughly 48 hours

Oh lookie there; Dariush was lying.  What a shocker.

Eliminated players:  Please post a full roleclaim (rolename, issues, abilities) if you want me to even consider you for a VP nod.

I shifted Social Right last night, which means someone shifted it left too.  Unless someone wants to claim that, we may have someone else we need to get rid of today.

Speaking of getting rid of, Mod:  Is there voting/lynching as per normal today?  Can we PM multiple players at once?  Can we PM eliminated players?

Woops!

Okay, couple addendum:
There is lynching, as normal.
Also, I forgot to process night actions, hold on.

Well, that makes a huge difference!  Also, Mod:  Can you answer the above questions?

Anyway, fullclaim.  I mentioned my res already, but I'm also a (spin) doctor [lol getit?].  N1 and N2 I protected Book, while N3 I protected McNoble.

Let's shift (and action) claim again.  Tiruin and Native, this means you two too.

I shifted Social Right.  Ignore the bit earlier about it had to be shifted left.

I shifted religion left last night.

As for a full claim, there's really only one thing I haven't mentioned. When I announced my candidacy, I gained the ability "Master of Spin". Basically, I remove a vote from myself and attach it to the person who voted me. Any votes against me for the remainder of the day from that person would count as a vote against themselves.

To recap: I'm the Dark Horse Candidate and my issue stances are Social Super Conservative, Economic Super Conservative, and Religious Moderate.

Welcome to the Caucus!
Today is a very special day, mostly due to the absurd amount of rules violations! Here's a convenient list:
Oh boy. Yeah, that's not convoluted at all!

Tiruin was killed during the night!
NativeForeigner was killed during the night!
The first was me: I offed Tiruin. Whoever killed Native should claim it.
I also shifted Economy towards liberal twice (clearly someone shifted it to the right once).

5) Running Players may PM me their desired VP, from the list of eliminated players or a "safe" (imaginary) VP, who provides no benefit but is definitely not Liberal Scum.
Moderator: what happens if whoever we happen to choose as running mate turns out to be liberal scum? Or third party?

Native:
When I announced my candidacy, I gained the ability "Master of Spin". Basically, I remove a vote from myself and attach it to the person who voted me. Any votes against me for the remainder of the day from that person would count as a vote against themselves.
Is that your only ability? I find it odd, given that others who have claimed happened to have two, not one. Please clarify.

So far, Toaster, McNoble, and I have claimed in full. Mii is the only one alive who hasn't.

Mii: please claim in full.

From the dead, Native has claimed, but I think there's something missing, as I said. Tiruin, Dariush, ToonyMan, Andrew425, Pranz: please claim in full as well, and let us know if you are interested in joining the race again as someone's running mate.

I think my rules made things pretty clear. Perhaps if you have a more specific question?

I shifted Econ right, and since I blew my one-shots N1&2, I didn't have an action to take.

Mii: I'm pretty confident Book and Toaster are town. If I withdraw and become Book's (for the sake of the argument) running mate, and Book and Toaster lynch you, this game should be pretty much sewn up. Do you have a very convincing reason we shouldn't do that?

Hmm... maybe I'm not understanding it right. But I guess the answer is "it's bad", which is what I thought. I'll let the rules sink in for a bit, maybe my brain just needs a bit to time to catch up.

I'd certainly be interested in being someone's running mate.

Book: That's the only ability I have left. "Announcing my candidacy" was considered a one-shot.
