So you should hang on to it, just in case Toaster is up to something scummy. If Toaster is on the level, we don't need it to win. If Toaster is scum, we may very well need a LyLo-breaker like that.

Not so. The more people we lynch today, the more important activity becomes, but the difference between having an odd and even number of players left is the same as the difference between MyLo and LyLo.
The following assumes one mafiakill against town:
1 mislynch/vigkill: 7 players left. At least four active townies out of five required.
2 townkills: 6 players left. MyLo.
3 townkills: 5 players left. LyLo.
4+ townkills: 4- players left. Town is endgamed.
Unless we hit scum with the lynches, of course. But then we'd be even farther from LyLo, making it even less appropriate for you to fire off your LyLo-breaker.
If town has two mislynches, your vigging someone just to have us at an odd number of players would mean instant LyLo if you hit town. And you would have spent your LyLo-breaker. I find it difficult to see how that's an advantage for town.

Um, so what? Toaster's plan involves a clearly and cheaply (for the rest of the town) testable hypothesis: Specifically, "one of today's mislynches will come back from the dead by tomorrow." If that doesn't happen, Toaster gets lynched. End of story. If it does happen, town wins. Also end of story.

The more I think about it, the less I like your
