I did not answer from my own experience! In other words, in all honesty, that role is something I have never before heard of or seen myself in a game. I answered, thinking of every circumstance. The former is more common, as I am led to believe. The latter just crossed my mind, because that is the exact opposite of needing scum alive for your win. I just thought I myself would glance upon it. You are welcome.

It is above equality - to have everyone express themselves in a way they see fit. If you were town and had a night kill, would you use it tonight? On whom? Why?

Depends on (a) how the scumhunting goes and (b) whether it was a repeating or a one-shot ability. If people wank their way through D1, then I wouldn't NK as a vig. If we managed to get enough actual scumhunting done that I felt I had a good lead, I would if it was a repeating action. If it were a one- or two-shot, I would be really torn between using it to make sure the scum don't get me first or keeping it around to break out at M/LyLo.

In general I'm in the camp that favours vigs claiming early - particularly in small games - so (a) they can coordinate their kills with the rest of the town and (b) watchers don't freak out and get them mislynched because they visit the chap who bites it. This Time Is Different, though, because we're in a setup resembling a Lights Out game. Which makes a vig kind of "meh," since town can always lynch a whole bunch of people anyway.
