Atop the hill, a squad of the Antaraen Third Rangers has set up a camp.  One soldier , standing guard, spots something in the sky.

Heavy One:  Something in the air to the east! Looks like a drop pod; approaching fast.
Soldier Two: Confirmed, I see it too.
Seargant: Roger.  [on radio] Attention ArCom, we have an incoming drop pod, unknown force.
ArCom: Yes, we can see it.  Looks like a Fedaration ship.  Investigate it, but do not fire unless fired upon.  Be advised, we are picking up a
lot of unknown activity in your area, and will return information when we have it.
Seargant: [Heavy One] and [Soldier Two], investigate the craft cautiously.  It belongs to the Fedaration.  Everyone else, stay alert - there are other forces in the area.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

The jetrooper continues on his way to find the other faction(s) in the area.

BAMMM!
Shaking the ground with the collision, the drop pod came to a halt, the passengers mercifully protected by the inertial dampening system.

"This is Seven Down," broadcast the drop pod, "Confirmed successful deployment. Delta, Theta, Zero and One ready for orders."
"This is Prime, copy that. Delta and Theta, enter the cave and report. Zero accompany them. One, I want eyes on top."
"Understood," replied the marines, joined a split second later by the synthetic voices of the drones.
"Seven Down. Prepare for transfer once Zero has set up the network."
"Yes Sir."

As [Heavy One] and [Soldier Two] move to the east, [Soldier Three] sees the jetpacking man to the west.  Zooming in in his sights, he sees another man behind him.
Soldier Three: Spot! Two men near the building to the west; One has a jetpack!
Seargant:  ... Watch him cautiously.  (To himself:) What is going on here - Fedaration soldiers and another unidentified force?  For that matter, why are we even here?
[Soldier One] and [Heavy Two] move towards the western edge of the hill.

Zero quickly set about the foundations of the new outpost, whilst Prime communicated with Alpha and Beta.
"..Hold Position, One is approaching the crest. Keep eyes on that side of the plateau."
Beta confirmed the order, and Alpha headed on, shadowed in the cavern below by Gamma.

Heavy One reaches the edge and, looking  down, spots the drone. "Confirmed, there is a drop ... Drone!"
Soldier Two rushes to the edge to get a clear line of fire, but remembers that he does not have clearance to fire. He aims at the drone anyway.
Soldier 2: "Spot, one drone and one man."

At the other edge of the plateau, Soldier Three is slightly less prudent.  He fires downwards on sight, but misses due to his lack of aim.  The others rush behind him to see what is going on.

Back in the tent, Sergeant 1 radios Area Command again.
Sergeant 1:" Arcom, this is Squad 242.  We have confirmed contact with Fedaration forces." *hears Soldier Three firing* "Hostile contact, and another unknown force is in the area. "
ArCom: "Confirmed, a dropship is on it's way with another squad to reinforce you.  Hold your position until it arrives."
Seargant 1: "Roger." *to the troops* What is the situation?"

That is entirely my opinion as well :) Besides, our actions don't really affect the other two.

So, Declare.

"Contact Top!!" called Bravo, "Two Antaraen Hostiles, we're under fire!"
"Return fire, shoot to neutralise."
Bravo and Alpha responded with gusto, releasing a hail of Tungsten into the soldiers above.
Gamma, realised the only thing the shotgun is useful for at this range is fro shooting Bravo in the back. So, slinging it, he drew his sidearm, and quickly popped off a round.
The sheer volume of automatic fire was bound to hit something, or at least pin them down.

On the other side of the plateau, at almost the same time, One spotted another pair of Antaraens. It quickly dropped again, and hid under the lip of the cliff, relaying what it saw.
"Copy that," Prime responded, "Delta, take one shot, then pull back. Theta, burn anything that's vaguely green the moment Delta's past. Down, Hostiles spotted above you, be prepared to hold them off. Transfer is imminent."
The three confirmed orders, and Prime started running to support Alpha, Beta and Gamma.

Two of the bullets do hit Soldier Three.  One in the chest, but due to the oblique angle it is deflected.  The other hits his barely armored arm, wounding him.  As all three of them fall back from the cliff face, Heavy Two pulls out a small medical kit.  It has little other than painkillers and sealant foam - he is not a medic - but it will be enough to restore Soldier Three to somewhat normal functioning.  Soldier One fires a fragmentation grenade from the grenade launcher on his rifle.

Heavy One and Soldier Two jump from the cliff, Heavy One relying on his powered armour to keep him safe, and Soldier Two on his small jetpack.  Soldier Two fires a shot downward, but misses.  Heavy One just concentrates on his landing.

The Sergeant emerges from the tent, picking up his rifle.  He moves to assist the soldiers to the west.
