I just got a candy FB.
« on: February 07, 2012, 03:01:57 pm »

So, yes, a candy FB.   I didn't think it was supposed to be possible?

Maybe because I made it possible for candy to appear, on a very, very rare chance (like 1 in 10,000), as a single cluster in gold veins?

*gulp*

How should I deal with this walking doom?

Also, it has a way to the surface.

Undestroyable candy FB?
Perfect, unlimited weapon training for your dwarfs.

Hrm... well, weapons will be nearly useless. Same with magma, and possibly freezing traps.

Obsidian or gravity are probably your only two options left. >.>

You must capture it with a webbed cage trap!

You both win and lose DF at the same time, congratulations!  :D

Can an adamantine spear actually hurt an adamantine FB?  I guess you could make a bunch of said spears and try the repeating spear trap idea.

A much more reliable way to kill it would be to obsidianize it or cause a cave in on it.  Otherwise I'd just wall it off and pretend it never even happened, because I'm pretty sure sending in the dwarves to fight it, even armed with adamantine weapons, would probably be the last you see of them.

This is a really good idea.

Remember: Cave-ins will kill it, no matter what it is made of.

Truth, but that would be boring.

It's probably killable if you have some high quality candy weapons.
Also because candy is so lightweight its punches and kicks should be ineffective against your dwarves.
Does it have any claws or something to do piercing or slashing style damage?

Does the density of adamantine actually matter for megabeasts?  I assumed DF just went by the creature's size, although it should use density too to calculate mass.

Gravity? Against a candy FB?

*Sigh*

Despite it being huge in size, it still weighs as much as a plump helmet.

It has a density of .2g/cm^3.

With a size of 10,000,000, it'd weight 2,000,000 grams, or two metric tons.

Two metric tons still goes splat when it's falling at terminal velocity. ^^
