The title pretty much sums it up.

So looking from the side it would look like this:

_/T

I then build a wall on the ramp tile (upward triangle (/ in this case) ) it will look like this:

_TT

Will enemies be able to drop down behind the wall?

Nope, voluntarily they can't. A triangle signifies a slope or passage, block it and nobody can pass if it is the only way.

Enemies cannot voluntarily drop in, if they are engaged in battle and your dwarf knocks them over, they will.

Um, so in short, no they won't. But you will be blocking your own passage too.

Thanks!

And will they take damage from the fall?

If ~1 z-level = Stun

If 2 or more z-levels = damage

~9-10 = Heavy damage but not yet lethal

~11+ = Lethal!

~9-10 = Heavy damage but not yet lethal

~11+ = Lethal!

depends on the creature and how tough it is, if there is armor on, and possibly some other factors

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

Actually once you hit the 10+ z-level drop 99% of your creatures are going to explode into gory bits upon hitting the bottom, regardless of how tough they are, and the other 1% is going to be so damaged that they will die incredibly quickly afterwards (or they're invincible FB's and can only be obsidianized or frozen). Just make sure that they don't land on any living creatures or they won't take any damage at all.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Someone did gravity science on this, and 9z lvls was the 100% instant death rate barrier for goblin sized creatures. Armour will change this though, which is probably what is happening for you ;)

Oh and you'll have to find a way to force them to drop.

That was the thread I got info out from. It stated that 9 was the bare most that anyone could not die at, lethal wounds, but not lethal at the time of splatting.
