Jumping on the bandwagon: +1 to burying the bodies.
We also need to question Olof after this. About a variety of things. Like how to repair Shelby, for starters.

Turn 45:

Panel 1:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Mayard: "No, I think I should be fine. I'll help."
Captain Davis: "Ah, good lad. Well you go get a shovel off of Mrs Yergen over there and we can get star-"

Soldier: "Captain! This grouge isn't dead."

Panel 2:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Captain Davis: "Come again?"
Soldier: "Well it's still breathing softly, it must only be knocked out"
Mayor: "Maybe it isn't knocked out, maybe it is the necromancer!"
Captain Davis: "Let's see."

Panel 3:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Well this sure takes the attention away from you. Although you feel pretty embarrassed that you didn't notice the grouge wasn't dead.

Soldier: "Should we kill him now?"
Captain Davis: "I don't think so. It'd be nice to get some answers, plus he might not really be the necromancer."

Just go with the general opinion.  Lessens the heat on Mayard.

my first thought was "Oh f***, he's gonna give us". Let's hope he won't tell what we are.

What's the likelihood we can outrun our countrymen? Note: dropping the weapons lent to us is acceptable for running away purposes.
Also, if this goes to shit, we can probably summon a demon and escape. Unless it immediately aggros us. We need a cart for our loot too, or a wheelbarrow.
Right now, kind of wish Necromancy could do offensive spells.
Also, I'm not sure if it has been asked before, but what is our cheapest to control minion we can have? Exceptions being useless minions, like a 1 str, 1 dex skeleton that would cost 2 points.
On a slightly related note: did the book on necromancy say what would happen if we went ridiculously over our control limit? EG: We hit 80/67, do our skeletons suddenly decide to slay us?

Why would we want to mess with the captain? He's not upset at us. They already have a low opinion of Mayard, this just plays into it and perpetuates the thought that we're mostly harmless and useless. And what is this talk of outrunning people? Nobody is after us...

It seems that the further we go over our control limit the less direct control we have over the skeletons and the more free will they have. This is only a bad thing if they do not WANT to do what we say. Shelby seems loyal anyway and Edgar seems happy enough to simply exist for now, so I don't think we're in danger.

Mayard should say, "We could kill him, but he's helpless. I doubt he is any threat now, and he could tell us who ordered the attack. Someone made that golem after all, and that person could be the one who made the crystal too."

Not the Captain. The Grouge.

A half-dead grouge isn't a threat to us in any case. Especially not when we have so many people around. I still say we lock it up and question it.
