"Rogue."
"Figures. An' your sign?"
"Assassins Cross."
"Thought so. The crime you're in for isn't illegal here, though I do feel sorry for the goat. So you're free to go as soon as you sign these papers."
Dear lord they know about the Goat Incident.
You sign the paper and the Oni tucks them into his tunic.
"Awright, here's some directions so you get to know your way around the fine city of Homu. Left side of the city is property of the Guilds. We got Fighters, Mages, and Rogues guilds working out in the open. We also got an assassins guild somewhere, but if any guards catch you in that one you'll be back on a boat to Avalon for execution.
"The right side of the city is the shoppin' district. You ain't got any gold, so I don't think you'll find much of intrest there. We got a blacksmith there, specializes in blades, so if you're gonna join the army he's gonna get real familiar to you. We also got a little alchemists shop for potions and scrolls and a big general store with random objects that may be useful for adventuring. Like I said though, without any gold that'll all be useless to you.
"Just below us is the residential district. I'd recommend making friends, Fox. People don't much like loners here, and it can get pretty dense in some areas of the island. Plus, you'll need a place to stay. Ask for the Landlord when you got enough gold for a house, which should be in the range of 5,000.
"Off in the distance is Mount Naifuji. The caves there are used by robbers regularly, and raided by adventurers with the same frequency. Don't expect to find much more there than experience.
"And finally, if for whatever reason you need to go there, the capital can be reached by following the north road to its end, through Osakachan."
You make a move to leave, but the Oni grabs you by the ear (OW!) and presses a single gold peice into your hand.
"Worlds a dangerous place these days. Keep one eye red, Fox" He turns away from you.
Well you sure as hell never heard that before.
