Message to Valve

'A Red Letter Day' is a worldwide event that is being held on February 4th at 11AM PST. As a community, we will be playing the game Half-Life 2 as a fun and involving way to draw attention to the series. Over 40,000 members from the Steam group "A Call for Communication" and any other Half-Life fans are invited and encouraged to play.

Or, as someone else put it, "Worst case, a bunch of people have fun playing a game together. And Valve might give us some information."

So, let's all play us some Half Life 2!

 I believe there is a program out there to allow for multiplayer co-cop through the campaign online. This would be a good chance for all of us to rock it hard.

You are thinking of Synergy, a mod that, indeed, allows for online co-op through the main story.

You should give it a shot some time. It's got a good story, told almost entirely without cutscenes; likable characters that avoid being Mary or Marty Sues, and a number of iconic moments and enemies. You also get a gun that can pick up objects and shoot them at enemies, and that's always fun

Honestly? Everything about Half-Life 2 is amazing. The graphics, the story, the gameplay and the atmosphere of the entire game are all pretty much perfection from beginning to end. Need I mention that it's difficult? And long? It's my favorite FPS for the PC, by faaaaaar.

I just haven't heard those names for a generic person before, usually you call them John or Jill Doe.

Ok, I see your confusion now. A Mary Sue is a character who is, in a word, perfect. Kicks ass, takes names, wins the love interest, becomes ruler of the world, is fabulously wealthy, never makes mistakes, is a super-genius, etc etc. Crops up most commonly in fan-fiction, and there are many sub-varieties, from the Copycat Sue (is pretty much identical to another established character, especially if said character has unique abilities) to the Jerkass Sue (is a total bitch to everyone, everyone loves the character anyway).
