So I used notepad ++ with it's find and replace function and replaced [PET_EXOTIC], with [PET], and then realising I wanted to train the nice exotic's replaced [PET] with [PET][TRAINABLE].....

well I was just attaching a guard Elk Bird to my cavern entrance, when

appeared in the list....

..... I can imagine that this will be very effective. yes.

p.p.s my excitement levels are barely containable right now, with impending life doom that is a new release! I only found DF after the last release, so this will be my first experience with ludicrous bugs

I may attempt to train some unlikely animals as war animals. Any suggestions? I'm in an untamed wilds/something else area, (I think?) though I don't seem to get very vicious animals Camels, Yaks. Then underground I get naked mole dog (<-possible candidate?), GCS and Elk Birds

You can already pit animals and two animals sharing a restricted space will routinely attack one another.  You could easily throw in three windows and a door between four wall sections so you can get the victor out and remove the remains of the loser.  The only thing that you're really missing is your dwarves being able to gamble on it.
