Exactly what I was asking, thanks! That sounds like fun, I'm gonna change to Menec/Outhe instead, then. I like Menec's less xp required for level ups, but Outhe has science...

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Yeah, Zodalore seems fine.

BTW: How did you manage to download this mod? The official download server doesn't respond.

I think the main site is experiencing some technical difficulties.

Temporary Links:

Okay, yeah. Shift from not!Esirce to Zodalore. Dem ruffles. Or stay with not!Esirce, whatever. So long as Esirce loses out :P

... what gender is Z, anyway? I'm guessing female, but it could go either way.

In the lore, Outhe shot a would-be Dovelio Assassin point-blank with a pistol, as he tried to attack her in the middle of her treatise on the importance of science and recovering lost knowledge.

I think that says enough.

Also, yeah, Zodalore is a chick (I think). Sadly, she doesn't have any lore, but what's implied by her old affinity for Espionage. :/

Part 0b - Settling the Frontier:
Because there's no place like home... yet.

While the council debates over who will lead them, the villagers of Midgard gather resources, and elect teams of explorers. They spend many days ranging as far as the western coast, through the dense woods and plains hard with frost, looking for a place to settle.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A few likely locations are discovered, each with a variety of natural resources. An abundance of valuable indigo dye grows along the northern coast. Potential tropical crops grow near an ancient tower to the west. Wild pigs and gems are found in the shadow of a volcano to the east. The explorers return to the village, in hopes of coming to an agreement on where to settle.

Esirce sounds most interesting to play if you plan on beating the others up good, but Zodalore is totally hot. Hmmm. On the other hand, this is our LEADER, and an old woman with a pipe shooting assassins sounds like someone who might succeed in leading a nation to more than just simple greatness.

I just vote for Solibabe's vote.

Edit:

Oh yeah, home. Well, indigo sounds mighty fine, ah but food sounds that much better, no? And hey look! Bananas! I'm going to choose City Ruins though. Lets inherit a fine city and make it better!

Let's get a pig farm up and running in the east. As I said in the previous thread, food for proles. The divine have no business with the Grigori so we must compensate with USSR levels of manpower.

I vote for one tile north of the city ruins. They give a random bonus research event sometimes right? We'll get two of the dye plus all of the other stuff in the northeast of that map (if my memory of the city size is right), except for that red/orange mountain thing.

The city ruins. Just make sure the city can access the river.
