Adventure mode.
I've been mostly playing fortress-mode, since the current version adventure-mode is - quite honestly - too unfinished.

What I'm really waiting is to finally combine neat dwarven fortresses ended by various kinds of fun and adventuring to make an explorable "story" based on one single world.

That's the final goal of DF. You will be able to do it in 20-30 years.

Adventure mode for me. I've maybe spent a total of an hour playing Adventure mode previously, simply because I found it boring and frustrating compared to Fortress mode. But all the new features should make it a lot more fun. Plus, it'll give me something to do while I wait for DFHack and Dwarf The Rapist to be updated, so then I can try out Fortress mode :).

I'm gonna have to say adventure mode right away, but then once I manage to get the hang of the new raws I'm looking forward to fortress mode and the modding capabilities.

Adventure mode.  Its my favorite mode, but the current version is devoid of things to do, to the point where I don't even go to the adventure section of the forums since I already know pretty much everything that can possibly happen.  Hopefully that will change with the new version.

You dare offend The Toad by placing the Front Page on your filthy second monitor?

Anywho, I'll probably dive into some adventuring.  There is a lot there, and I plan to just kinda go with the flow.  Just see what kind of wacky adventures I end up on. 

I'm expecting the usual... eccentricities from this release though.  The bug tracker will be active.

Combat in Adventure Mode is fun but I hope we will have more quests than "go kill x" in the new version :D

I expect most of the quests will still be "go kill x", but x will now be located in a sewer dungeon or behind a mummy's crypt or require a bismuth dagger to kill or something.
