How does "Support DF" work?
« on: February 02, 2012, 01:00:59 am »

Hi guys, hi Toady One, hi Threetoe,

so I decided to support DF ... no big deal for me... not especially much, but I wanted to do it.
And I searched the site to know what happens next.
Since there is some sort of "Reward" (at least for me it is one) in donating, but I do not know what to do next.
Maybe I am not alone with that, and it would help others to donate to, if there is a little step through.

Donate!
Contact us?
Tell us if you wanna be a champion?
Get your art work/story?

I am aware I got an Email after donating btw ;)

Regards

donating ought to be enough. everything else will delay the release :D

if you want a little story or get listed on the bay12champions site just contact Toady via email and tell him.

Actually, if you donate through the support link he'll send you an email about your reward and champion listing anyway. There's no need to contact him in-between.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I actually think one has to ask Toady for the reward/bay12 champion listing. Not sure though.

If you donate, Toady sends you an e-mail asking what kind of reward you want. All you need to do is reply to that e-mail.

Edit: You also get a separate e-mail from paypal confirming your donation. Toady's e-mail usually comes a day or two later. Might take a bit longer when he's in a busy period like now.

I think my last donation actually took some months. :P
He admitted to having lost track of it though, but it got sorted.

This.  Toady's a cool guy about this stuff, he followed through with my sort of specific request for the art reward.  It did take a little while for it to arrive (a month or so?), but considering how many of these they probably have to do each month, it's no surprise, and didn't bother me.
