A privately owned forum with a paywall to post, and alternates between being viewable by members only and publically viewable is not a 'public' forum.  It may be publically viewable, but that does not make it public property.  Further, the people involved in the LP were a group of members doing a communal LP.  They were not creating the LP 'for the public'.  It is not a public work, in the public domain, or any of that.

If that is truly the case, and it probably is. Then It's my mistake.
I don't have any experience of 'paid forums' and assumed (naively) that such a forum would not be private.

I retract everything, I was wrong. Though I still feel they haven't acted charitably, or even resonably to others in this.

Agreed. I was never talking legally, I was talking about the moral issue of stopping people. I know they CAN legally, but whether they should, was the issue.

Believe it or not people who do writing (or any other sort of art, no matter how low tier you perceive it) can be fairly possessive of how they want it to be used or displayed.

Agreed, it's probably my own prejudice. I do see LP's as low tier writing usually, even though I and many many others have spent many hours and detailed writing at times to make them happen.
I guess I should respect all forms of writing  in the modern world, more so.

I have projected my own views of my own works onto others, for that I was silly.

I could contact 'em again.  Private messaging on SA requires an extra feature (a ten dollar account upgrade) that both members need.  To my knowledge only a few of the people on that list are both still on the forums and capable of doing PMs.

Alright, it's officially scrapped. If you want to get permission for whoever in the future wants to take on the project, be my guest. I'm sure official permission under some sort of creative commons or something would be helpful to someone.

But jumping through hoops to allow me to do this like it's some great privilege just isn't worth it. I got enough political jumping through hoops to do in real life. Also, locking the thread. Future stuff will have to go in some other thread.
