checking post-Legendary+5 skill levels
« on: January 30, 2012, 11:13:42 am »

Every now and then when I'm reading about certain forts, people talk about dwarves who gain far more exp and skill levels than is shown.  Does this still happen, and if so, how do you check it?

Dwarf Therapist will show exactly what skill level they are all of the way up to Legendary+5, or at least my version will.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

I'm asking about post Legendary+5 skill levels, though.  21 and up.  I've read about people finding out their badass militiadwarf is, in fact, level 87 or something in a weapon skill, as an example.

First is that in fortress mode dwarves will only go up to level 25, it is only in adventure mode that you can go higher then that. And in adventure mode you simply need to look at the amount of experience required to go up to the next level and compare it on a linear scale. In fortress mode it is impossible to go that high though.

In some earlier version of Dwarf Fortress skills and stats could go very high. In Syrupleaf Holistic Detective had 50+ weapon skill, IIRC.
