Load cage trap spam
« on: January 30, 2012, 12:57:31 am »

I've been getting "Mechanic cancels load cage trap: Needs empty cage trap" spam for game years.

I have things that have been caught in traps. I have empty cage traps. And according to "stocks", I have empty cages. I don't have any traps designated to be built.

What's the deal?

Thanks.

Have you tried building more cages?

Yeah. I just tried building another and it's still spamming. I don't have the fuel to set them on cage-making repeat to see if that will solve the problem.

Thanks though.

wooden cage?

try emptying some of the cages
there might be small animals in some of the cages, they don't show in the screen normally

If all else fails, go to the empty cage trap and forbid the mechanism. It will tell the dwarfs not to load it

also, some of the "empty" cages may contain corpses. You will have to manually dump those...

Have you been taming animals?  Taming animals sometimes leaves seeds in the cage, which you then have to manually dump out before the cage counts as empty.
