Problem with OpenGl
« on: August 21, 2007, 09:08:00 pm »

I downloaded DF, unzipped it, and tried to run it and got this message after being asked fullscreen/windowed mode:

I have: NVIDIA GeForce4.440 Go 64M, I'm on a laptop with screen res of 1280 x 800 (if that matters)
I've tried fullscreen, and windowed, neither work. Could someone help me out please? And my drivers are up to date. (Tried to update and it said the one I have is the most up to date.

Thanks in advance.

Have you downloaded the driver from http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp  ?

You'd want Graphics Driver -> GeForce 4 Series -> <insert>.

Thanks, I went to the site, but the file is 40megs, and I'm on dial-up, so I can't, thanks anyway.

Can't?

It may take a very long time but with a download manager that can pause downloads I think it is possible.

You can also try the Omega drivers.  I have had good experiences with them so far.  They are basically slightly stripped down on the interface and then settings tweaked.  Generally they tweak settings that aren't accessible through the interface provided by nVidia.  I just checked the 2k/xp drivers there and they are all just under 21Mb.

You can also check for more information here. http://www.driverheaven.net/windows-xp-linux-nvidia-display-drivers/  http://www.driverheaven.net/vista-nvidia-display-drivers/
