Yep. Besides which, SK is very westernized (although the anti-American sentiment there is also pretty strong in some places, because America likes to push the country as a whole around and because of stuff like documented (and un-) incidences of GIs raping South Korean women, etc...)

Most of the people I work with are from South Korea and some of 'em go back regularly. From what I hear, in terms of consumerist/urban technology, American cities look pretty backwards compared to theirs.

They are WAY too in-touch with global politics to be called 'crazy' on the level of NK.
