Alexandre frowned and shook his head. This still wasn't what he was looking for...

Perhaps he should try Tunis, Alexandre thought to himself, and indeed as the idea ran it's course, it took hold of Alexandre. Yes, he would travel to Tunis. If he couldn't speak that language, either... well, he was out of luck.

Sail to Tunis.

The wares he had purchased were in no great demand at Gijon, but the iron ore was there!  He'd buy what was available and sail onward to Barcelona, having gotten word from a merchant at the port that he should head there for what he sought.

Buy the iron ore, sell nothing, and sail for Barcelona.

Juan looked over the goods, nothing caught his eye. Nothing was good here, well, for him.

He shook his head as he turned to the helmsman.

"Back to Paris, my good man.

Sell all the ore, try and buy some sails (again), then load up on brass and salt (leaving around 10k in hard coin).

Set sail for Tunis and continue getting to know the men. Surely some of the others at least have some contacts in the ports or know others with certain skills.

Belleci sells the pepper, and then goes to find a cannon merchant, and purchases two cannons.

He then finds a farmer's market, and makes a purchase of 10 barrels of butter, before setting sail for his home in Venicia.

Alexandre sailed to Tunis. They also spoke Arabian.

...Perhaps he should wait in port until a Romance-speaking person come along?

@Toaster

Willem bought 35 crates of iron ore and sailed to Barcelona. It took 5 days to get there.
The iron forges of Barcelona were in full operation. One would almost think that Spain was getting ready for war.

Ham :: 368
Gin :: 331 (PRICE DEPRESSED - 53%)
Glass eggs :: 1119
Iron ore :: 889

Juan looked over the goods, nothing caught his eye. Nothing was good here, well, for him.

He shook his head as he turned to the helmsman.

"Back to Paris, my good man.

Juan again owed 419, and wrote out some low-valued promissory notes.

Almonds :: 186
Almond oil :: 653
Quicksilver ointment :: 1847

In port, he caught wind of a royal supply request: any merchant who supplies 200 total of at least 3 types of preference goods shall receive twice the market value.

Sell all the ore, try and buy some sails (again), then load up on brass and salt (leaving around 10k in hard coin).

Set sail for Tunis and continue getting to know the men. Surely some of the others at least have some contacts in the ports or know others with certain skills.

Mehmed profited 23231 from the ore. He then purchased 30 crates of salt and brass. He had 11686 ducats left. He tried to buy a sail, but good sails were priced at at least 50k.

He set sail for Tunis. At the dock, he saw a Romance-speaking person seeming perturbed by the wall of language.

Brass :: 620
Salt :: 292
Glass eggs :: 1330

Belleci sells the pepper, and then goes to find a cannon merchant, and purchases two cannons.

He then finds a farmer's market, and makes a purchase of 10 barrels of butter, before setting sail for his home in Venicia.

The pepper is sold for 11792 D. Belleci buys 10 butter and 2 boxes of cannons and sets sail for Venice. 22 days of port-hopping pass, along with 1760 D.

Butter :: 336
Cannons :: 4919

Alexandre sighed. He decided he would wait a while, and if he couldn't catch sight of someone he could understand, he would travel to Paris.

Willem cheered inwardly as he saw of what was happening here.  Now was time for negotiation!  He headed off to sell his iron ore.

"Good day, sir!  I have 35 crates of the finest Asturian iron ore, fresh from the mines.  I see that you're a busy man, so I'll shoot you straight.  This ore is top quality, and straight from Spain's bosom.  I can sell you these at the low, even cost of 950 per crate or 32,500 for the lot.  What say you?"

Attempt to sell all the iron ore at the above rate- take what I can get as long as it is not below the nominal 889 each rate.  Check around for information as to what weaponry is needed where.

Juan re-read the pamphlet over and over again, scanning the lines for any mistake.

No, it was official. Other than the wax seal though.

He then walks merrily over to the dock merchant. The same one that he met a few weeks ago.

He then decides to sell all his goods. Buys all the salt available to him, and heads to Palma. Paying his debts to his loyal crew.

After checking over the prices for the goods in his hold, Mehmed directs his accountant to sell the salt and purchase Almonds. While he is doing that Mehmed walks over to the perplexed looking man.

"Is there something the matter friend? You seem troubled by something?"

Ah, that's what he forgot - to install the cannons. Belleci orders his men to install the english-made cannons on the top deck, then steps ashore with the butter, intending to sell it to the merchants of Venice.

Action summary:
Install cannons
Sell butter

The accountant has a point. Given we fly the Portuguese flag, England would be an obvious destination.

Godspeed to Plymouth.
