A few Arma 2 deals on GG that I have seen, which should I buy?
« on: January 17, 2012, 06:50:32 am »

Guys, I just found a really neat series of arma 2 bundles on Gamersgate, and wanted to buy one. I don't know which is best, so I will list them here.

http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/games?prio=relevance&q=arma+2 (all of them in the list)

http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DDB-ARMAX/arma-x-anniversary-edition-bundle (The "main" bundle, it has all of the games, plus expansions at a reasonable price.)

http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DD-ARMA2OA/arma-2-operation-arrowhead (By far the best priced, I heard this one is stand-alone also, so it'll probably be the best option, unsure)

http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DDB-A2COEU/arma-2-combined-operations-bundle (arma 2 and it's expansion, good price, and I heard you need both for lots of the mods.)

Any thoughts? Opinions? Feel free to help me out guys!

If you're willing to spring for it you might as well get the ARMA X bundle. It comes with the original ArmA and ARMA 2 plus all of its DLCS and Operation arrowhead. You need at least ARMA 2 + OA to play with most of the mods anyways. The DLC's are included into the base game, but you don't get the campaign missions and you only get low-res assets. Seriously they look like ass and you won't want to use them.

The games worth it, too.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Thanks so much for all of your help. I'm going to be getting the Arma X version. It seems like the best bang for your buck ;).

Yes, you definately want both ARMA2 and OA.

Then you want to move the addons folder from ARMA2 into the OA folder, or find a way to run it with combined ops using a launcher of some sort.

Then you want to uninstall ARMA2 and only play OA, assuming you only moved the addons folder.

I don't have the DLCs, the community I tend to play with doesn't play with it enough to warrant getting it.
