When my migrants arrived, so did a whole bunch of turtle shells and bones.

       

They're all in the upper left hand corner of the map.

It happens when the river "becomes completely thawed."

Happens to me too.

I Guess the delivery guy who's supposed to dump the living turtles into the river when it becomes fishable doesn't know his job very well.

id like to report a similar bug,

whenever traders arrive i get a stack of items appearing in the top left corner, usually axes for dwarfs, bolts for human and swords when elf's arrive even if they didn't go anywhere near the corner

this would be good except im on a elephant map and as soon as it happens my entire fort population charges outside, vomit streaming in all direction right into the heard

Yeah, there are various incarnations of this (Bug 78, 94, 348).  It's tricky to pin down since this just means the location variables of the items aren't set for whatever reason (the top left corner is 0,0).  It seems to happen sometimes when food rots/is eaten (the turtle shells/bones) or with some items when people arrive (the trader equipment).  I haven't had a chance to look at it closely yet.  Did the turtle shell/bone stack appear exactly when the migrants did, or could it have been there earlier?

I have narrowed it down to the exact moment/announcement:
"The river has completely thawed."

I have reloaded the save point previous to it and ran the game several times to find it.

Fish repopulating bug? There are no fish in the river after this. My fisherdwarves that arrive with the migration find this out soon enough. If they appear in the summer (about the time they would have become depleted in the previous year) I will let you know.

What concerns me is whether or not the traders will count that lost equipment against you when they leave.

It didn't come with traders. I originally thought it had arrived with my migrants, but it came as soon as the river thawed.
