Hi,

Sooo, I have this issue where after channeling several z-levels of stone, and then designating said stone to be dumped (d-b-d), my dwarves ignore the dumping order.  The stone is not forbidden, and is definitely marked to be dumped.  The only thing I can think of is that it is outside...but I don't know how that would be affecting anything.  All gather orders are set to gather, not ignore.

Thanks for any advice...I'm sure it's a simple thing that I'm overlooking, always is.

Hmm.  Are both the to-be-dumped stone and the garbage zone accessible (both to dwarves and to each other)?  Are labours properly set up on the dwarves?  No problems with ramps etc after channelling out?

Are they just busy dumping something else? Or are they busy? Dumping is a pretty low priority job for Dwarves.

Did you enable collection of refuse from outside? Press o, then r, and see if 'Dwarves Gather Refuse From Ouside' is set.

That was it, thanks!  Apparently the stone outside was being considered refuse...and they weren't collecting refuse from outside.
