STUPID LITTLE ****
« on: January 09, 2012, 12:14:50 am »

Ok so some kid apparantly watched his mother slaughtered by goblins whilst also carrying her baby brother who was also stabbed through the eye with a spear and then there wasn't enough coffins so they both decayed in front of her so shes mad or something. Point is she destroyed 3x10 bridge made of dolomite that represents the only way into or out of the fort. Again. Three times now. If I make that thing out of say, steel, or candy, will it make it harder for the little snot to destroy?

::EDIT::
Just found out that FOUR DWARVES WERE ON THE BRIDGE, RETURNING FROM BATTLE AND WERE CARRYING FULL STEEL ARMOR AND CANDY WEAPONS. If I use an artifact mechanism on the bridge, will the bridge be indestructible?

Make it out of clear glass blocks.

Then, assign her to a burrow that only encompasses the middle of the bridge and have another dwarf retract it. You undoubtedly have a suitably nasty space underneath and your other dwarves may watch her fate as an example.

Material mostly affects magma resistance (glasses happen to be magma-safe for no reason) while building quality affects destruction time.

In the mean time burrow the kid into some locked room. You could then build as many bridges as you want, without fear of angry children. It's also a good idea to build your bridges out of sections of bridges, i.e. a 3x3 bridge made up of 3 one tile wide bridges.
