The first one is above average for books meant for teens, the second one is okay, and the third one was pretty bad. Basically the third one was just a fan service, while making the main character an extremely mopey teenager who can't take care of herself without a man to help her.

Hmm, okay.  Probably won't be reading them, then, but you guys should feel free to discuss the books here if y'all feel like it.

I read the series about a year ago when my brother recommended it to me. Pretty much just repeating the same sentiments others did: First is pretty darn good, second isn't half bad, third was kind of eh with a huge dash of god damn this stupid ending. Overall I'd say the series is worth a read if only because you could easily read it all in a day and a half at a slow pace.

Also the upcoming movie, if you're into that kind of thing. I haven't really been keeping up with that but I'm just going to assume it won't do the first book justice until I see otherwise.

Hmm, I hadn't seen that trailer yet. District 12 looks pretty...clean. The CG in that trailer gives everything a real homogenous look. The District should be grittier, and the Capital should be shinier.

Yeah, that's my biggest criticism of the trailer. District 12 should not look like a particularly happy place.
