1. How old are you?
19, but I'll be 20 on the 26th.
2. What gender are you?
Male
3. Do you drink any caffeinated beverages?
Yes. Various and depending on what my conditions are. I'm a heavy tea drinker, but not generally for the caffeine as well as soft drinks (*American* Coke, generally) now and then. When my schedule demands, I'll drink Red Bull, coffee, and whatever other energy drinks are around.
4. If yes to the above question, how often do you drink them a week?
Depends on the week. I'm the guy listed in the off-handed comment about the use of caffeine during military type operations. When I was standing in a watch tower looking through nods with no one but my rifle and a machine gun to talk to, I burnt through two cans of Rippit per shift, possibly more. Same thing with driving missions. Or, like right now, where my sleep schedule is messed up, I'm trying to stop taking naps during the day, so I'm probably going to drink three red bulls to try to trip it back and drink one a day to keep it going.
Back when I was working a desk with horrible hours and didn't sleep a full day for a few months, I was going through a pot and a half by myself every night.
Generally though, a regular week would only have me drink maybe three cups of black tea and a Coke. However, I don't have many regular weeks, it seems.
5. Did you find the essay informative? Yes. Fair bit of good information, although as a popsci article I'd really prefer more information. I found the tone good pretty good as well, with just the right amount of caution and judgement, combined with not overstating the risks.
6. Did you find the essay interesting to read? Yes. I found the last full paragraph on the third page a bit awkward though.
One note, though, I'm only awake and active thanks to a can of red bull, so I may be missing stuff.
For my request, I think that I'll request that you put on a top-hat, do a jig on a park picnic table, having a picture taken while you are doing it, then post the picture here.
