Notes program for windows
« on: January 03, 2012, 01:37:11 pm »

Hey guys, I'm looking for a program that lets me write 'sticky notes' that I put on my screen~
If you've used stickies (pretty sure I remember that's what it's called) on a mac, you know what I mean, but I'd rather have something with a bit more functionality~

A quick Google search gives me this. Dunno if it's any good, though.

*insert jokes about buying actual notes*

I have stickynotes because it came with my laptop. Try searching through the start menu.

Are you talking Windows, Linux, or something else?

Windows 7 comes with a program call 'Sticky Notes'.  You'll find it under 'Start / All Programs / Accessories / Sticky Notes'.  Vista may have that as well.  Is that insufficient for what you need?  I promise I can find something else if you don't already have that.

The sticky notes accessory comes with Windows 7.

I personally make note documents and put them on the desktop. This wouldn't be helpful if you have a cluttered desktop, though.

Look at the title. (It's Windows.)

Sorry, I glance at titles and read posts.  Oh well, wouldn't be the first time I did something stupid.  Sticky Notes is great for leaving things on the desktop.  MSOffice OneNote is actually useful, too, but not really what was being specifically asked about.

Sticky Notes lacks a lot of the functionality I'm looking for~
Ideally, I want to be able to close the note without losing it, or having to save, even, and being able to change colours~
To be honest, notepad is more useful than Sticky Notes~

I use Enigma, which is a rainmeter skin. The notes app for it is exactly what you're looking for.
