stairs genorate sand?
« on: January 01, 2012, 01:00:10 pm »

i just started up dwarf fortress and a new map on the gennesis mod, i started removing stairs where my safe hiding hole is and i noticed all the ramps i removed had sand under them, my hiding hole was at the top of a zeolite wall, is this an unseen bug or something that the gennesis mod does? ::TESTING::

NOTE: the title was mistitled, wasent thinking about it at the time

You removed ramps, not stairs. If sand is the kind of soil on that layer, then that's supposed to happen. I believe the sand was underneath the ramp. grass may start growing on it as though the ramp was never there.

Is that grass in the top left near the magma?

removing a construction can change the floor tile it was on into the most common tile -  in that soil/ rock level in that biome  (i think), which is the same as when cave-in dust is composed of different material then what caved-in. A real OCD concern.

Yeah, I wish I could just change the material back to what it used to be somehow. I'm certainly not above cheating to fix glitches like that, but I don't think the option exists.
