Kitchen folk LOVE tallow.
« on: September 06, 2006, 11:42:00 am »

I guess thats a bug. Earlier when i ordered to cook - i sometimes got tallow biscuits. Now, i have nothing cookable, but tallow, lots of it from butchering. I order to cook - dwarves start to dump ALL (!!!) the tallow in one kitchen, when done - they say there's not enough ingridients, and haul all that back to the storage.

there's no way to toggle tallow to non-cookable, which isn't really an issue now because the alchemist workshop and soap are pretty useless, but it could cause problems later if it's required for candles and stuff.

You didnt get it. Its okay that tallow is cookable. Suppose you have...150 units of it, and nothing else, if you order "Easy meal" for example - a dwarf will go and bring ALL 150 units of tallow in one tiny kitchen (making it EXTREMELY cluttered in the process) and then he will haul all those 150 units back.

Suppose you didnt know about that, and didnt watch the kitchens closely, you can lose ALOT of dwarf/hours.

okay, it's probably halfway injected into the cooking process but didn't quite make it because it's also considered a "glob" like mud.  I'll work it out.
