Help me find Offline Puzzle/Brain games. For the Grandparents...
« on: December 24, 2011, 09:33:18 pm »

Seeing as I am the only gaming person in my family in my grandparents eyes, I have been question on how to get more offline games for them. My grandmother has become bored of the Card games that have riddled her PC's harddrive and her Idle time has become boring again. Now I am struggling to find FREE or Super cheep Offlines Downloadable games that I can put onto her PC so that she can stop bugging me to help her. Sadly I can't point her at any of the online browser games and such like Kongregate or so due to the Lack of Netknowledge to even handle getting to those sites let alone pick the right games and play them...

Please save my Bay12. I need help...

I like Hanafuda, multiple offline versions, it's a Japanese card game.

I also absolutely love Chocolate Castle (<http://www.lexaloffle.com/choc.php>), but it is $11. :( If you could find a past copy of the Humble Indie Bundle with it (or have it, perchance, it was one of the kind of overlooked minigames).

Hmm... Bejeweled? I'm sure you've already considered that though.

If she doesn't mind anime-ish graphics, how about Irisu Syndrome? Unfortunately, I haven't tried that one yet, so I'm not sure how it plays out.

Other than that, my mind is burnt out at the moment, and I can't remember the puzzle games my mom used to play.

If she's good with a mouse, try introducing her to Zuma, for a change of pace.

Simple, free offline game? Why dwarf fortress OpenTTD of course. Well maybe. If she can't operate Kongregate...than I don't know. Freecell?  :P

Or maybe that Plant vs. Zombie TD I see all the time, though that costs a little bit of money.

"Edit" Actually, any game made by Popcap might due. They're pretty simple and user friendly.

There is always piracy, if you're desperate though.

Brain Age, if you've got a DS lying around somewhere. Yeah, I know you asked for PC but it's good and if, like, your little brother has it lying around on his old DS or something I wouldn't ignore it.
