[176.38a] CTD in Fortress Mode
« on: February 16, 2008, 05:47:00 pm »

My fortress was happily buzzing along when suddenly... CRASH! I checked the error log and the last thing it had was this:

quote:

loop path fail: <invalid> human,0,236,15 -> -15,236,15: Id #18358:Path Goal Seek Station:Station Mill Anywhere at 21,130,15

I'm not sure if this will be enough to hunt down the problem, so I'll start playing again and see if anything of note happens.

EDIT: The human caravan was leaving, so that may have something to do with it, judging by the nature of that error.

Did you save scum in adventure mode? The double tagged item message is almost always because of a savescum.

Hehe, whoops. I accidentally used the error log from the wrong DF folder. Edited.

Did you cut off a human from leaving your map, such as a diplomat?

Well, the human guild representative was caged by one of our traps... and.. I... I...

I threw him down the chasm.

How long before the crash did the human get trapped?

Ah... hm. I'd say about ten minutes or so. FPS is rather bad on the map I'm on.

Yeah, let me know if anything happens.  It's hard to get things to reproduce, but I count at least 1 crash bug in each of the main modes that I have absolutely no clue on.

Alright, this time the guild representative left completely unharmed. Everything is running smoothly, so his death may have had something to do with it. Either that, or it was caused by the rest of the caravan.
